Has anybody tried this on Magento 1.8, or, better yet, on 1.8.1?

Does this module work on Magento 1.8? I tried another similar item yesterday, but it gave me a 500 error, so I quickly uninstalled it, and I'm not all that keen on messing things up again.
Asked by: kuratiino
I have tested v.0.3.3 on mage 1.8.1 community. works fine, no problems, no additional fiddling after install, so that was good: tested with/without frontend access option also tested with allowed IPs there are some similar mods that do the same thing, i haven't tested them as a comparison, but i will (mmm maybe i have slight case of OCD)

Doesn't work on http?

Hi, Looks like store maintenance only works as long as I use https when I have storemaintenance on with allow access to logged in admin turned on. If I switch to http for front end it shows me the maintenance page and logs me out of admin. I noticed that frontend is writing to adminhtml cookie which is weird and is probably the reason why I am getting logged out of admin. Please help me fix this situation.

Can you insert variables?

Is there a way to insert Magento variables such as into the Maintenance Page HTML Code?

How Do You Install This With Magento 2

There's no where to paste the extension link that gets generated anywhere. In 1.9 there use to be an admin page that allowed you to paste the install link and Magento would just "go do it".

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work anymore Unfortunately, it doesnt work for me, I'm always getting the maintenance page even with the Frontend Access for Admins putting on "Yes". If you have any solution for this matter, it would be great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it says on the tin. I would have preferred a few instructions (like: cache refresh, log in and out, to be able to find and to avoid 404 Error) But once in, does the job just fine. Working with CE 1.9.1

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Warning about upgrades of Magento I have 2 shops on Magento 1.9.0.1, one uses this extension and one without it. I also have several extensions on my shop. Once Magento 1.9.1.0 was released on nov. 24, I wanted to prepare to upgrade my shops but one had magento downloader list of magento packages kept being gray while the other one had several packages becoming yellow with new updates. I checked all my extensions to find which one was blocking the packages becoming yellow for updates. After installing and uninstalling all of them, I found it was this one, so I am warning everyone here. If you want to upgrade to Magento 1.9.1.0 you better uninstall this extension. Thank you.
