    Rated 5 out of 5 by Works on CE 2.0 Seems to work just at described. Pretty simple to install and navigate. All good feedback at this time. January 26, 2016
    Rated 5 out of 5 by Works great with CE 1.9.2.2 Just upgraded script from v1.9.2.1 to v1.9.2.2 and this stopped working. Downloaded the latest FREE version 3.0.1 which they have updated to work with CE 1.9.2.2 from their MageStore.com and it works great! Easy to install. And now they have many more options than prior versions which I have used since CE 1.7.0. It is easy to install following their pdf instructions included in the ZIP file. Don't forget to DL the Users manual as its not included in that ZIP DL. Thanks for creating such a wonderful free Banner Slider. December 23, 2015
    Rated 1 out of 5 by Error on Magento 1.9.2 when adding the banner into page Not working on magento 1.9.2 I read the error report in var/report and the error is "Error in SQL syntax near bla bla" December 16, 2015
    Rated 3 out of 5 by not working with 1.9.2 not working in 1.9.2 bt this extension have great features i used this extension in 1.8 pls developers give any solution ASAP in installed 3.01 version of this extension it will show error always in 1.9.2 December 2, 2015
    Rated 5 out of 5 by Doesn't work with 1.9.2.2 Great extension but it doesn't work with Magento 1.9.2.2. It produces a syntax error if you place the code in your PHTML file. If you use the add to CMS method, it doesn't display anything. If you use the automatic method, it will produce another syntax error. But let's just wait for Magestore's update. They are just giving this for free, so we'll wait patiently. Haha! :D I recommend it if your Magento version is 1.9.1 or lower. :D November 14, 2015
    Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Customer Support & Good extension As I added the extension to my site it worked! no issues but the only issue I had is to center the banner on my homepage. I emailed magestore and Louis helped me and was extremely helpful and prompt. All the best to Magestore! A+++++! Extremely Happy with the extension. November 5, 2015
    Rated 4 out of 5 by Not working on 1.9.2 After update my magento aplication to 1.9.2 version, it's showing a sql sintax error I tried to download the new banner version from Magestore website but erros still persists. I just recommend this module to other version, but not for 1.9.2 magento version. November 4, 2015
    Rated 4 out of 5 by great extension not actually compatible with 1.9.2.2 It's a great extension. But actually it's not compatible with magento 1.9.2.2. I wait the fix quickly November 4, 2015

    Rated 2 out of 5 by Security Patch for 1.9.2.2 broke the slider Today I've installed the security patch for 1.9.2.2 and the banner slider does not work. This should be a minor fix I guess. October 28, 2015

    Got error
    a:5:{i:0;s:643:"SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '.`value)` = '0') AND (`start_time` = '2015-10-' at line 2, query was: SELECT `main_table`.* FROM `bannerslider_
    LEFT JOIN `bannerslider_value` AS `status` ON main_table.banner_id = status.banner_id AND status.store_id = 1 AND status.attribute_code = 'status' WHERE (`bannerslider_id` = '1') AND (`IF(status`.`value IS NULL, main_table`.`status, status`.`value)` = '0') AND (`start_time` = '2015-10-28') ORDER BY order_banner ASC"

    I think problem in sql parser in this part

    (`IF(status`.`value IS NULL, main_table`.`status, status`.`value)` = '0')

    Answer:
    I have the same problem after upgrade to 1.9.2.2. The banner slider does not working anymore. The workaround helps to eliminate the sql error.
    I think the problem is in block System -> Permissions -> Blocks. Inserting allowed bannerslider/default block dont helps.

    Answer:
    I had the same problem as others where this fix worked for the front end but I still had 404 problems in the admin.

    I fixed this by re-saving the permissions on the Roles page:
    Magento admin zone -> System -> Permissions -> 'Roles' page -> Administrators -> Click on 'Save Role' button.

    I then cleared out the caches and now it works fine in the admin too.

    Answer:
    Hi I have fixed the issue temporarily by changing some of the files.As per security patch I have changed some code,

    1) app\code\community\Magestore\Bannerslider\etc\config.xml

    New Code:

    <admin>
    <routers>
    <adminhtml>
    <args>
    <modules>
    <bannerslideradmin before="Mage_Adminhtml">Magestore_Bannerslider_Adminhtml</bannerslideradmin>
    </modules>
    </args>
    </adminhtml>
    </routers>
    </admin>

    Old Code:

    <admin>
    <routers>
    <bannerslideradmin>
    <use>admin</use>
    <args>
    <module>Magestore_Bannerslider</module>
    <frontName>bannerslideradmin</frontName>
    </args>
    </bannerslideradmin>
    </routers>
    </admin>

    2) app\code\community\Magestore\Bannerslider\etc\adminhtml.xml

    New Code:

    <bannerslider module="bannerslider" translate="title">
    <title>Manage Sliders</title>
    <sort_order>1</sort_order>
    <action>adminhtml/bannerslider</action>
    </bannerslider>
    <banner module="bannerslider" translate="title">
    <title>Manage Banners</title>
    <sort_order>2</sort_order>
    <action>adminhtml/banner/index</action>
    </banner>
    <standard_slider module="bannerslider" translate="title">
    <title>Preview Slider Styles</title>
    <sort_order>3</sort_order>
    <action>adminhtml/standardslider</action>
    </standard_slider>
    <banner_report module="bannerslider" translate="title">
    <title>Report Banners</title>
    <sort_order>4</sort_order>
    <children>
    <banner_report_all module="bannerslider" translate="title">
    <title>Per Slider</title>
    <action>adminhtml/report</action>
    <sort_order>1</sort_order>
    </banner_report_all>
    <banner_report_only module="bannerslider" translate="title">
    <title>All Sliders</title>
    <action>adminhtml/report/banner</action>
    <sort_order>2</sort_order>
    </banner_report_only>
    </children>
    </banner_report>

    Old Code:

    <bannerslider module="bannerslider" translate="title">
    <title>Manage Sliders</title>
    <sort_order>1</sort_order>
    <action>bannerslideradmin/adminhtml_bannerslider</action>
    </bannerslider>
    <banner module="bannerslider" translate="title">
    <title>Manage Banners</title>
    <sort_order>2</sort_order>
    <action>bannerslideradmin/adminhtml_banner/index</action>
    </banner>
    <standard_slider module="bannerslider" translate="title">
    <title>Preview Slider Styles</title>
    <sort_order>3</sort_order>
    <action>bannerslideradmin/adminhtml_standardslider</action>
    </standard_slider>
    <banner_report module="bannerslider" translate="title">
    <title>Report Banners</title>
    <sort_order>4</sort_order>
    <children>
    <banner_report_all module="bannerslider" translate="title">
    <title>Per Slider</title>
    <action>bannerslideradmin/adminhtml_report</action>
    <sort_order>1</sort_order>
    </banner_report_all>
    <banner_report_only module="bannerslider" translate="title">
    <title>All Sliders</title>
    <action>bannerslideradmin/adminhtml_report/banner</action>
    <sort_order>2</sort_order>
    </banner_report_only>
    </children>
    </banner_report>

    3) app\design\adminhtml\default\default\layout\bannerslider.xml

    Find and replace all "bannerslideradmin_" to "" (Null i.e. remove the word bannerslideradmin_)

    Eg:
    <bannerslideradmin_adminhtml_bannerslider_index>
    <reference name="content">
    <block type="bannerslider/adminhtml_bannerslider" name="bannerslider" />
    </reference>
    </bannerslideradmin_adminhtml_bannerslider_index>

    to

    <adminhtml_bannerslider_index>
    <reference name="content">
    <block type="bannerslider/adminhtml_bannerslider" name="bannerslider" />
    </reference>
    </adminhtml_bannerslider_index>

    4) app\code\community\Magestore\Bannerslider\Model\Mysql4\Banner\Collection.php

    Comment this line :

    return parent::addFieldToFilter("IF($field.value IS NULL, main_table.$field, $field.value)", $condition);

    Below the commented line add this:

    $this->getSelect()->where("IF($field.value IS NULL, main_table.$field, $field.value) = 0");

    5) app\code\community\Magestore\Bannerslider\Block\Adminhtml\Addbutton.php

    New Code:

    $url = Mage::getSingleton('adminhtml/url')->getUrl('adminhtml/banner/addin');

    Old Code:

    $url = Mage::getSingleton('adminhtml/url')->getUrl('bannerslideradmin/adminhtml_banner/addin');

    Admin URL will be changed and the query error also solved.

    The slider works fine when setting a position in the admin but if I add the code to a template file with the banner ID I am getting the error:
    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'default' (T_DEFAULT) in

    Code in template is:
    <?php echo $this->getLayout()->createBlock(bannerslider/default)->setTemplate(bannerslider/bannerslider.phtml)->setBannersliderId(2)->toHtml(); ?>

    Answer:
    I solved it yesterday. In the code examples for the implementation inside the template (the PHP example) the example is wrong.

    You should add qoutes around the strings in the function obviously. Totally missed it myself in the first place.

    Works:
    <?php echo $this->getLayout()->createBlock('bannerslider/default')->setTemplate('bannerslider/bannerslider.phtml')->setBannersliderId(1)->toHtml(); ?>

    We have the same issue.

    1) First I had the SQL syntax issue, which I solved seeing the answer was already noted here in the Q&A.
    2) The page breaks if I use the example code with the same PHP error you've mentioned.

    Hi, bannerslider works great on almost any platform, but on IE (9) it just shows the banners underneath eachother. Taking up double the space and no slider.

    Compatibility view does solve the problem, but not the desired effect :(

    Answer:
    I had that, If you change the style to 'Auto Switch' it solves it.

    In admin go to System > Configuration > Banner Slider and change the style over. Still works just fine as a slider but 'auto switch' setting also works on Chrome, IE, Firefox, Opera Mobile and Safari on the iPad.

    Answer:
    For anyone else running into this problem I found this over in the reviews...

    Just a quick fix of my last review. Banner for category can be done easily, remove code <!-- and -->, only these two symbols, not the code between, in file app\design\frontend\base\default\layout\bannerslider.xml.

    Not sure why that would be commented out by default, but it works.

    Hope that helps, GREAT EXTENSION!!!

    I've installed the extension on Magento 1.7 CE.

    I've created a new slider with a single slide and setted to show it in the Homepage TOP CONTENT.

    I've a custom theme simply cloned from default/modern theme (bundled with magento) and i've not modified any file.

    I only want a slider in the homepage of the store and i've not understood if i have to modify any layot/template to show it.

    Actually in the result i see that the extension is injecting the banner slider js and CSS file... but no slider is shown (no html rendered).

    Hi,
    I had the same problem last week and it was certainly a cache issue. I removed all cache (magento, firefox, etc), had quitted web navigator and reloaded the page and nothing worked... I come back on the site the day after and it's working O_o

    Answer:
    Here's what I'm finding. If you set the start date for an individual banner to the current day, it will not display. If all of your banners are set with a start date of the current day, it will not display any slider.

    The start date of the banner needs to be 'yesterday' at the soonest.

    Not a cache issue.

    Answer:
    I have the same problem PLUS the slideshow stopped working on the frontend and took the whole site down as well. It seems that the class Magestore_Bannerslider_Model_Mysql4_Banner_Collection is generating some SQL that breaks Magento (or Zend). There's a custom addFieldToFilter method that uses some advanced logic to filter banners status (and other attributes) by store view.

    I also have this problem. Clicking any link on the Banner Slider menu options apart from Configuration lead to a 404 page.

    Is it possible to change the order of the banners showed on the website, so that the first banner showed is not always the first banner added with the lowest ID?

    Answer:
    I needed to do this myself, a quick easy way of doing it is to go in to the database and look for the bannerslider table. From here you'll see a record of each banner. You simply change the bannerslider _id value for each banner to the order you want them pulled out, they're pulled out in ascending order i.e 1,2,3 etc - so give the banner you want displayed first the lowest ID.
