How to set wordpress homepage as my magento's homepage.?

I have a two sites one in wordpress and other in magento, I need to show the homepage of wordpress as magento's homepage.. how to do so.? (both hosted in same machine)
Asked by: vigneshm90
To achieve this you should install the Root add-on: http://fishpig.co.uk/magento/wordpress-integration/root/ This will allow you to remove the /blog/ from all of your blog URLs. It also includes the option to automatically replace your Magento homepage with the homepage of your integrated WordPress blog.

Can you update your blog theme to reflect an updated magento theme?

Our website utilizes your extension, and after updating our magento theme, the blog still uses our old theme. Just wondering if there is a way to update or reimport the magento theme to reflect the changes we made. Thanks!
Asked by: hitlights
The integrated blog uses your Magento theme. If you update your Magento theme, these updates will be passed to the blog. If this isn't happening, this means that either things are being cached (try refreshing the cache) or that something isn't configured correctly.

Can this extension be setup to work with a subdomain?

I'm using http://myforeverhair.com as my magento installation and want to install wordpress to blog.myforeverhair.com. Is this possible?
Asked by: mykkal
yes it is possible: In order to integrate your wp blog in your Magento instance, you can declare blog.site.com as base_url (secure and|or insecure) in your Magento store. Before that, you must check in your wp blog if these URLs like: catalog, checkout, admin, API, etc.. it's not already used. You can retrieve every routings parameters in app/{pool}/{namespace}/{module_name}/etc/config.xml in <frontend><routers><args<frontName> section Finally, you have to dump your wp database data in your Magento database. You can also add a prefix to tables used by fishpig.

How do I use my Magento theme?

Your Overview page says: "Use your Magento theme for your WordPress blog" I have Wordpress and the extension installed and all appears to be working well but it's still using the default WP theme. Where do I set it to use the Magento theme? I've read through all the documentation on your fishpig site and nowhere is this feature mentioned. Thank you.
Asked by: jahwah
With the latest version of the extension, you can enable theme integration in the configuration area of the extension. This is enabled by default. If this isn't working, the extension isn't configured properly.

Disabling Comment section from pages + Posts

How do I get magento to stop including the comment form at the bottom of every post? I tried disabling in the wp admin and the configuration > advanced area and it still shows up. Thanks
Asked by: smiller13
To disable comments you have 2 options: 1) Login to your WordPress Admin and select Settings > Discussion. From here you can disable comments globally. 2) Edit a post/page in the WordPress Admin and disable comments for the post/page. If the discussion section isn't displaying, click the 'Screen Options' tab at the top of the page and check the box next to 'Discussion'. I also recommend upgrading the extension to the latest version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most integrated Magento/Wordpress extension Fishpig has done a good job building and maintaining a Wordpress/Magento integration. One important thing to understand about this extension is that the Magento Fishpig module acts as the frontend of Wordpress. So the the Fishpig module queries the Wordpress database directly and returns the content. You still use Wordpress for all admin functionality. The downside of this is that only certain Wordpress plugins are supported. Fishpig sells Addons that add support for some of the most popular Wordpress plugins. The benefits of the integrated approach that Fishpig takes to the Wordpress/Magento integration is that Magento developers don't have to learn Wordpress development techniques… they can just use familiar Magento template/block structures. I used this module on a very custom content/eCommerce site and Fishpig either did everything I needed or the vendor was able to implement new functionality for a small cost.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Customer Support, or should I say none. We have been using this plug in with good success for months until we have a log-in error. Despite multiple email requests via the Fishpig website and via Magento Connect there has been no response whatsoever. This has rendered the plug in useless to us. Maybe this will compel them to respond?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top notch extension - and there's more... Fishpig seems to be a technically great developer. This extension does exactly what it says, but Wordpress is a complex beast and Magento is an equally complex beast. This app marries the two together, provides feedback to help with potential conflicts and even has a "recent posts" widget pre-configured to get you going. But there's more... head on over to the fishpig website and they have add-on extensions that integrate other non-standard wordpress features (like advanced custom fields). They provide example code, tutorials and other reference material. If you want Wordpress content in your Magento site, I highly recommend this extension. (I'm on Magento CE 1.9.1 -

Rated 3 out of 5 by from AddThis not working Hello. I am using this since 2011. Magento 1.9.1.0 AND Wordpress 4.1. >Fishpig extension works very well. Magento 1.9.1.0 AND Wordpress 4.1. AND AddThis http://fishpig.co.uk/magento/wordpress-integration/addthis/ AddThis in Magento is working. AddThis in Wordpress is working. BUT when Fishpig WordPress Integration is Enabled YES then AddThis is not working in Wordpress. A few years ago I used Magento + WP + Fishpig + ShareThis and it was working very well. Possible Fishpig has too many AddOns to look after… I wrote an email to fishpig. https://fishpig.co.uk/contact-us/ No answer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great WordPress Extension I integrate it into Magento Installation and works well. It also modify the template according to design in Magento Installation and seems structure like Magento way. It's not just integrate WordPress into Magento Installation but have a template so we can override it into Magento Installation not change it in WordPress Installation.
