1. Introducing Advanced Reports

A report is a snapshot of your business. Properly generated report is a forecast of future sales trends. The more information you get, the more valid forecast can be made.

Preparing a report manually is quite a labour intensive process which usually takes much time. Automatically generated reports are the best way out for online store owners. But the native Magento Sales report is not the only one that you need to make a thorough analysis of your selling activity. With the Advanced Reports extension by aheadWorks you can have a better insight into your sales performance.

The Advanced Reports extension provides the information about every step in the sales process. aheadWorks gives you more flexibility in reports making. With Advanced Reports everyone can get the exact report information they need – sales by country, hour, day of week, product, the improved bestsellers and sales reports. All the data can be displayed on the charts configured according to your needs.

While your competitors are still manually preparing their reports wasting time and money you can get any type of required report in no time with the click of a mouse. Since Advanced Reports are similar to native Magento reports, no special training, knowledge and efforts are required. Besides in our User Guide you’ll find the step-by-step description of each report making, so you can track your business in split seconds.

2. In the Enabled field, select Yes if you want the charts to be displayed on the reports pages.

3. In the Height field, specify the height of the chart (300px is maximum). If you enter any value more than 300, the maximum possible height is applied. If you leave the field empty, the default meaning (200px) is applied.

Note: the value of this filed is NOT applied to the Sales by Country chart – its height is fixed.

4. In the Chart color field, define the color of the chart using hex color codes only (e.g. 625423 or ff67dd). If you enter the color name (e.g. black, red, green) or leave the field empty, the default color (ff9900) is applied.

5. In the Font color field, specify the color of the chart labels using hex color codes only. If you enter the color name or leave the field empty, the default color (676767) is applied.

6. In the Font size field, define the size of the chart labels in pixels (12px by default).

7. In the Background color field, specify the color of the charts background using hex color codes only. If you enter the color name or leave the field empty, the default color (ffffff) is applied.

Note: the background height is changed in direct proportion to the chart height.

8. In the Bestsellers Report tab, specify the number of products shown in the Bestsellers Report (10 by default).

9. Click the Save Config button.

2. In the Show Report for field, select the store from which the information for report will be used.

3. In the Range field, select one of the predefined periods for report data aggregating:

Note: take care not to overestimate the numer of data points required for a chart. For example, to show how popular chocolate ice cream was over the last ten years, aggreagating search queries for each day would result in more than 3600 values. It would not make any sense to plot a graph at this granularity.

To export the report information, in the Export to field select the CSV or Excel option and click the Export button.

Note: if the billing and shipping countries differ, billing country is taken for the report.

The colors of countries depend on the Total or Quantity of the purchases. In our example the USA has the largest quantity of purchases and it is colored in green. Fewer purchases were made in Canada than in the USA and that’s why Canada is colored in golden rod. Brazil is red because the fewest purchases were made from this country.
