Back in Stock Date

This will allow you to enter an estimated date that an item will return to being in stock.

1. Catalog → Attributes → Manage Attributes → Add New Attribute Properties

  • Attribute Code → back_in_stock_date
  • Catalog Input Type for Store Owner → Date
  • Used in product listing → Yes

Manage Label / Options

  • Admin → Expected to be in stock on

Save Attribute

2. Catalog → Attributes → Manage Attribute Sets → Default

  • Unassigned Attributes → Move back_in_stock_date to General Group

3. edit app/design/frontend/default/default/template/catalog/product/view/type/simple.phtml Around line 40, after <?php endif; ?> add:

  1. <?php if ($_product->getBack_in_stock_date() != NULL) { echo '<p class="availability">Expected In Stock On: 'date("m-d-y", strtotime($_product->getBack_in_stock_date()));} ?>
