This is an old revision of the document!

Shopping cart price rules can require a lot of trial and error to get them right. I’ve started this wiki article to capture in one place the recipes (conditions, actions and settings) that successfully implement some common promotions, so that we can all avoid some of the experimentation each time we go to set these up.

For more background on how shopping cart price rules work, please see this Knowledge Base article–What Are Shopping Cart Price Rules and How Do I Use Them?

Because this is a wiki article, please add to it with your promotion examples and correct anything that needs changing for later versions of Magento.

These promotions were tested with Magento CEv1.4.
