I thought exactly the same regarding adding the word each.
This would remove any potential confusion.
If this saves me one call from a confused customer then it is worth it.

I’ve got one suggestion based on this screencast that might help to avoid confusion for customers. The pricing tiers as displayed on the product page require you to think more than necessary. If you quickly glance at the tier section, you might think you’re getting 20 of them for a total of $12.99.
This could be avoided by simply adding an “each” behind each of the tiered prices. Or, better yet, it’d be great if you could display the amount and percent saved - “Save $4.87 each (21%) when you buy 5”.
