External Database Connector
Supports Magento 1.6+
This is the upgraded version of The Three Tree External Database Selector, which will now onwards be maintained and upgraded via this revision.
This is a external DB connector module. This will help in connecting to external databases other than Magento's Database.
This supports both read and write connection. Using this module you don't have to worry about making connections just use the Magento standard Model Object creation and getting collections.

It seems there is a problem when magento database has a prefix.
For example if magento database has a prefex say "mg_" when trying to load an item form external table say "products" you will get an error saying:
Table 'externaldatabase.mg_products' doesn't exist.
Any way to get red of the prefix.
