Smooth Slider
This Extension is the extended version of banner slider. Easily configurable from admin like effects,transition,width,height, and other configurations To make this slider show on home page, you have to put this line of code in homepage cms in admin: {{block type='slide/slide' template='slide/slide.phtml'}}
Note: Clear the cache after installing the extension
After uploading image if you get error "Image not found"
Those who have installed version below 2.0.4 can follow below steps Open the file below on Line no 68
app\code\local\GA\Slide\controllers\Adminhtml\SlideController.php
Replace $path = Mage::getBaseDir('media') ."\slidebanners". DS ;
with
$path = Mage::getBaseDir('media') . DS . "slidebanners". DS ;

Am new to Magento so I had the old error 404 problem in system > config, but developer kindly advised me to log out/in and delete cache. Then it all works fine. Editing CSS was easy to customise what wasn't possible in admin. I tried several other image sliders before this one, and I like this the best. Must have module. May 18, 2013Good extension I already used this extension for one of my application working smoothly. March 19, 2013I've installed the slider and it's working great but I'm getting validation errors because there are no "alt" tags in the thumbnails. I tried turning them off but the errors still occur when I use the W3C validator. Thoughts on how to make the thumbnails not generate or how to add the tags? Thanks much. First off great extension, but when i added it to my homepage it carries over onto other information on the right hand side of my page is there any way to just shorten the length of the slider by like 100px?
