Slider/Carousel showing New Products

Using this module you will have a Slider or carousel showing your new products.

Using this module you will have a Slider or carousel showing your new products. The slider will show the products you have marked as NEW (New from Date / New to Date).

Tested with Magento 1.2.1, Magento 1.3.0, Magento 1.3.2.1

FEATURES

1. You can choose where you want to show it. You can call it as a block, you can call it on CMS configuration. For example you can add it to your homepage: {{block type="catalog/product_list" name="home.catalog.product.new" template="paytype/migslider/migslider.phtml"}}

2. Admin Settings: You can choose how many products are shown, time between items, etc.

3. Easy installation. 1 minute. Simply copy the provided files to your magento directory, add the block to your homepage and refresh cache. (Full documentation included and below). Remember mark some products as new if you haven't done before. 

4. Optionally you can add a banner (any html code) to be shown as first product..

5. Multilanguage. It does not require extra locale file to traslante the frontend view. It will use your general store locales.

6. Fast and Simple. It does not use Flash. The extension uses javascript code to slide :-)

INSTALLATION

1. Extract the contents of the archive on your computer and navigate inside the extracted pt_newslider folder
2. Using your FTP or SSH client upload the following directories to your store root directory. This will not overwrite any file.
    app
    js
    skin

3.Refresh your cache from Admin Panel: System > Cache Management
        Set "All Cache" to "Refresh" and "Save cache settings".
4. Now you only have to add the block, from Admin Panel: CMS > Manage Pages.  For example, choose Home Page and add this content ("Content" field) where you want to show the slider: {{block type="catalog/product_list" name="home.catalog.product.new" template="paytype/newslider/newslider.phtml"}}
5. It's done!

Remember set some product as new: edit a product from Admin Panel, on General tab you will find the fields "Set Product as New from Date" and "Set Product as New to Date", if product it's between these dates, the slider will show it.

Optionally (for advanced users) you can modify some options from Admin Panel. Settings are available from the System -> Configuration page, under Admin. You will find there "Newslider Settings", click it.
    Box Width (pixels) = Width size in pixels for the slider.
    Box Height (pixels) = Height size in pixels for the slider.
    Time per item (secs) = number of secs between every product.
    Stop sliding on mouse over = if enabled, if you put your mouse over the slider it will stop the moving.
    Max number of products to show = if you have a big amount of products marked as new, it will be useful limit the number to show.
    Show the following HTML block first = if enabled, it will show as first display the HTML code you enter in the next field...
