Affiliate Referer
Originally, Affiliate Referer was created to be able to filter and sort orders made by visitors which came from affiliate links. This way the website administrator may easily evaluate the effectiveness of an affiliate program.
Affiliate Referer uses the server resources and there is no need to install additional JavaScript codes, like Google Analytics does. This extension does not replace the instruments for gathering statistics but complements them.
Affiliate Referer adds a new column to the Orders page, where the referer link is displayed. If the customer did not enter the website through a link (for example if he typed the address or got to the site through Favorites) the Referer URL field stays empty.
The Referer URL is also visible on the order page of a specific order.
The administrator may filter the orders by a certain referer or use multi-layered filtering, for example if the administrator needs a list of orders from a certain period of time or with a pre-set Grand Total Range. When the orders are exported to a CSV, the referer column will also be exported. This allows the administrator to analyze the orders offline with the use of Excel and other programs.
In the extension configuration you may select a list of Ignored Referer URLs and the maximum length of a referer URL so the referer column won't stretch to the full extent of the page. However the referal URL is saved at it's full size, even if you choose to display it shorter in the administration panel.
