LightSpeed eCommerce Connector 12 12A Little Frustrating This connector is a genius idea, although, we are having quite a few issues with it. First, we upload products from Lightspeed to Magento (they come in as "Simple Products") and when I run test orders on the "Simple Products" they seem to come through to Lightspeed just fine. We sell products that have reoccuring pricing so I installed this extension in Magento (http://ecommerce.aheadworks.com/magento-extensions/subscriptions-and-recurring-payments.html) and as soon as I take those SAME Lightspeed products, and add reoccuring pricing to them (It changes the product from "Simple Product" to "Virtual Subscription" product type)- they won't come in to Lightspeed! With the reoccuring products, we get the customer information (believe it or not...) but no order information. It blows my mind. When I talked to Lightspeed, they said my taxes settings were wrong - after fixing that, everything STILL didn't work right. The last thing I want to do is make all of my techs access Magento to find a customer, but that's the only way we've been able to make it work correctly. It's a bummer because we switched everything over to Lightspeed JUST for this connector - in hopes of making things simplified, it really didn't make that happen at all. March 26, 2013Hi We have installed this extension correctly & when we have also configured Lightspeed Application by entering valid XML/RPC username & role. But after this when we click on "Update Store" then we are getting this error "Task failed to complete successfully". Please help us giving any idea about this. January 2, 2013We are running LS eCommerce with Magento 1.5. I need to implement a gift card solution that will allow the purchase and redemption of gift cards online and in store. LS eCommerce currently doesn't support gift cards so I'm thinking this has to be handled through Magento. I'd like to have plastic gift cards and most extensions I see are for virtual/email gift certificates only. So I need an extension that can incorporate physical gift cards. Any suggestions? I was looking at Webtex Gift Card. October 10, 2012Well .. I have to agree with dolaghan Dont go rushing into this yet .. you will just be spending more time waiting for the missing features. I kind of expected this to sorted by now ..... It almost feels like they have given up on it. ,,,, Been way too long. July 26, 2012The Magento api changed at 1.6 hence the lack of future support. If lightspeed follow last years upgrade path then the release of Mountain Lion should see a bigger upgrade to the main application and hopefully to the ecommerce side of things. We have used this connector a lot and as much as its helped us there are some major missing features and bug fixes that need addressing. July 25, 2012If you are thinking about using lightspeed...forget about it. We have had nothing but trouble and they are taking their sweet time getting a module out that works with anything newer than 1.5. Additionally I have found it to be very slow and not good as a point of sale. July 8, 2012Review: We got there in the end. Using it more primarily for stock control, the vast majority of our product admin is done in magento. So far so good on our live site. http://wellgosh.com June 14, 2012I have worked on this now since the start .. and I think I have a fully functional site now. The Configurable products work with child, the uploads work with images, the orders update.... and Lightspeed doesn't seem to crash or lose connection in some loop. The improvements are definitely going well and I say thanks to Xsilva !! December 14, 2011I have had many issues also .. Support say they have run tests and they have not had the same problems including resetting etc I have days when the update cart works and times it does not upload images or updates the data and ALSO categories broken When I download the orders from my site and have the invoice in lightspeed for it excludes the TAx amount too .. WHICH CONFLICTS WITH AUSTRALIAN LAW it NEEDS TO HAVE THIS !! I am coping but see this as an alpha module and not a a stable one at all. VERY disappointing. September 7, 2011- Q&A
