Then you also need the static-block HelloSlide, as we specify in the theme documentation:

Also be sure to select "1column" as the layout option of your CMS->Homepage. If this option is not selected you will not see the slider.

{{block type="catalog/product_list" category_id="12" template="catalog/product/featured.phtml"}
Then add the category ID you want to display in:
category_id="12"
To find the category ID, simply navigate to Catalog->Manage Categories->select the category and you'll see this number next to the category name.

The static-block for the slider is called "HelloSlide".
That's it.
Be sure to download the theme from our site, which is compatible with Magento 1.7.0.2

Just below this line:

Add this:

Then in \app\design\frontend\default\hellowired\template\page\html\header.phtml
Add this line:
