Widget works perfectly. Is there an option to display more than just a single line of text from a feed summary? April 30, 2011
great extension. very easy to place a feed of my choice in a static block page. but, the CNN feed still appears in the 3 column layout under my car, compare products, recently viewed items. I want to remove the feed from this column sidebar March 10, 2011

Frequently I get an exception ‘Zend_Http_Client_Adapter_Exception’ with message ‘Read timed out after 10 seconds’ in F:Dropboxhtdocsarastan_localdevlibZendHttpClientAdapterSocket.php:512. Is there anyway around this, other than just updating the default 10s timeout to a larger value? When this error does occur the block is not displayed at all, which mucks up my page layout.

I accidentally left my local path details in my previous question. Can you replace the entire question with:

Define multiple feeds

Avatar Image Url:: http://www.magentocommerce.com/images/avatars/uploads/avatar_27501240
Customer avatar
Hi,

I'm having some struggle defining multiple feeds, one for each locale my blog has. Did it as the following:

In feedreader.xml

<reference name="blogfeed_nl">
<block type="feedreader/sidebar" name="left.feedreader" template="feedreader/sidebar.phtml">
<action method="setUri"><uri>mydomain/blog/feed/</uri></action>
<action method="setItemCount"><itemCount>3</itemCount></action>
</block>
</reference>
<reference name="blogfeed_fr">
<block type="feedreader/sidebar" name="left.feedreader" template="feedreader/sidebar.phtml">
<action method="setUri"><uri>mydomain/blog/feed/?lang=fr</uri></action>
<action method="setItemCount"><itemCount>3</itemCount></action>
</block>
</reference>

In page.xml

<block type="core/text_list" name="blogfeed_nl" as="blogfeed_nl" translate="label">
<label>Blogfeed nl</label>
</block>

<block type="core/text_list" name="blogfeed_fr" as="blogfeed_fr" translate="label">
<label>Blogfeed fr</label>
</block>

And in the phtml of my page I call the blogfeed_nl or blogfeed_fr, depending on the current locale of the magento site. But it always loads the second feed, namely blogfeed_fr even when the locale is nl. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks for your time!
