Image Clean
This estension lists all the product images that they find in the directory "media/catalog/product" and that they do not in the database. It allows to select and to erase these files.

Image Clean 42 42very good extension work perfectly on my store (4k pictures deleted) May 19, 2013does what it should This Plugin does exactly what it should. Maybe the catalog/cache images could also be deleted... Thanks for this useful Plugin. March 27, 2013Seems to work "on the surface" BE CAREFUL !!!! ... This extension seemed to work on the surface. Tested on development site first. It seems to work of, but stalled when trying to delete over 10K items at once. NOTE: When installing on live site, we immediately noticed issues with order transactions. Be careful as this extension may cause havoc with your payment gateways. It seemed too coincidental that every time one would go into the admin and even open the Imaclean page, it would trigger failures during the same time period with order transactions, causing the orders to fail, and giving error messages in the order transaction emails. Running v1.5 March 18, 2013exactly what I was looking for if you insert in /app/code/local/Mage/Imaclean/Helper/Data.php on line 43 these line of code if(preg_match('/placeholder/',$item)) continue; after the if condition, than the Image Cleaner skip over the placeholders. :) great software March 1, 2013Congratulations!! excellent software. In case you have a lot of images to delete, make sure to backup your "/media/catalog/product/placeholder" folder first - you will have to restore it after a "select all" -> "delete" operation.
