Fooman Same Order Invoice Number

Features
By default, Magento keeps separate counts for order and invoice numbers. This extension ensures that when an invoice, shipment or credit memo is created, it uses the related Magento order number.Once installed, new invoices / credit memos / shipments will always take the same number as the associated order - eg. if you invoice order 1000, then the invoice, any shipment and any credit memo would also be named 1000. In the event of multiple invoices/shipments/credit memos, a duplicate separator will be used - eg. invoice 1000-1, 1000-2, 1000-3 and so on.
The extension does not change any historic data - only future invoices / credit memos / shipments will be changed.
Configuration
• Install the extension using the instructions in The Ultimate Guide to Installing Magento Extensions
• Configure the behaviour of the extension under System > Configuration > Sales > Order Numbers
• If you are using an older version of this extension, you'll see an option under System > Configuration > Sales > Order Numbers > Prevent Duplicates. Set this to Yes (note this is not needed for newer releases of this extension)

May 19, 2013This extension works great, however please be warned that if for some reason magento skips order number, your invoice number will be skipped as well! So i.e. I buy x, magento reserves the next available order number for this order ie 2, but the payment fails, the next order that will be processed in magento will be number 3 not 2, because number 2 had been reserved for order that was incomplete. You will have a gap in order numbers and in INVOICE NUMBERS. January 6, 2013I am using magento 1.6.1. I have used this extension before (older version) to fix a paypal problem that was causing an error. Exception' with message 'Wrong order ID: "200000016". Well upon completion it is not actually changing the invoice number like it used to. September 7, 2012Hi, This is working great for orders created from the Magento website, BUT I am also use the M2E extension for syncing with Ebay. All the orders which are being imported from Ebay are using the invoices numbers following on from the out of sync ones, not the order number. could you tell me what will happen if I invoice parts of an order and then other parts?
Will it be like "10000000123-1", "10000000123-2" or what will exactly happen?
Same question with creditmemos, when I add two creditmemos, what will happen then?

In this case, a duplicate separator will be used exactly in the manner you have outlined - "10000000123-1", "10000000123-2", and so on. This applies to invoice, shipment and credit memo numbers.
