Brilliant and Solid I would highly recommend it. Development is open source on Github. October 26, 2014
Auspost part non functional This extension may have worked on older versions of Magento but not on anything past 1.8*. I wanted it purely for the Auspost extension and while it says it is set up and has the Auspost API installed it does not actually do anything. The shipping quote returns no value leading to no shipping amount being added to the order. The only response from Fontis is "We don't support free extensions." Well thank you Fontis, I don't support you now either. I was looking at some of your paid extensions but since you care so little about your customers I'll be looking elsewhere. October 2, 2014
Upgrade to version 3.0.0 Trying to update Fontis from vers. 2.5.0 to vers. 3.0.0 I am getting following error: Checking dependencies of packages Starting to download Fontis_Australia-3.0.0.tgz ... ...done: 1,194,690 bytes Installing package community/Fontis_Australia 3.0.0 CONNECT ERROR: Failed to open file C:/wamp/www/magento\downloader\.cache\community\Fontis_Australia-3.0.0\app/code/community/Fontis/Australia/lib/vendor/guzzle/guzzle/tests/Guzzle/Tests/Http/Message/Header/ My magento version is CE 1.9.0.1 August 21, 2014
Doesn't work on 1.8.1 Spent hours trying to get the eparcel quoting set up... and same with the shopping feed functionality. Was sooooo disappointed. Could not get any of the functionality of this module to work in 1.8.1. The only thing that did work was the bank deposit module - which to be honest can be simply recreated through the existing built in Magento bank deposit payment option. Big thumbs down to me. January 16, 2014
version 2.2.5 doesnot work in Magento C.E. ver. 1.7 The shipping calculator suddenly stopped working after upgrading my site to magento version 1.7. Reading one of the reviewes here, i came to know that 1.1.2 version of this extension works well in community edition 1.7 I edited it, and solved the problm... THanks December 13, 2013
It works .. sort of I've used this extension for an old website of mine for years - works fine. The current extension works to a certain extent - if you only need the postcodes/states for shipping and ABN to show, that stuff works. Yes the direct deposit doesn't work very well - but I can use the already existing "bank transfer payment" available on 1.7 CE so it doesn't bother me. For those with CE 1.7, Australia Post postage calculator does not work for some reason. I've tried everything but it refuses to reveal itself on the frontend. But because this extension still works for my old website, I deleted 2.2.5 and installed the old version of this extension 1.2.2 and voila, the postage calculator FINALLY showed itself on my 1.7 magento website. Shame, because I really wanted to try the new features in 2.2.5. November 25, 2013
2 bugs and their fixes for this extention A bit of frustration first: Why developers are not checking for bugs before publishing an extension for public access? Do they not realize that it will lead to anti-advertisement of their company? Now bug 1: DirectDeposit (and probably others) payment methods are not showing in Order Confirmation and Invoices emails in Payment Method section. Easy Fix for bug 1: copy Fontis folder from: X:\app\design\adminhtml\default\default\template\fontis\ to: X:\app\design\frontend\base\default\template\fontis\ Bug 2: There are a lot of errors are written in X:\var\log\system.log with enabled logging. Errors similar to this: ERR (3): Warning: simplexml_load_string(): ^ in /usr/local/www/qldguild.org.au/m-store/app/code/core/Mage/Core/Model/Layout/Update.php on line 444 Fix for bug 2: That happens because during installation of this extension "fontis_australia.xml" has been created as a folder(!). It is located in: X:\app\design\frontend\default\default\layout\fontis_australia.xml So just delete the folder and create an empty file instead with the same name. (I have no idea what was supposed to be in this file...) All the best! Paul August 29, 2013
very disappointed After reported the error issue to the developers, they replied me with "sorry we do not support for free extension!" Yes it's free, but as long as you bring it to the public, you should at least make it work, otherwise please just remove it. I've deleted the extension, and installed another extension which is free but "work all right"! Don't waste your time unless you know what you are doing! July 5, 2013
Waste of time Why provide an extension that does not work with 1.7. Tried on several installs. All fresh. No data, my data & sample data. All do not show the direct deposit details.Tried to email their support with standard response. Don't waste peoples time & your expecting development business, yeah right. July 4, 2013
Parse error same problem here, Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ':' in /public_html/app/code/community/Fontis/Australia/Model/Shipping/Carrier/Eparcel.php on line 131 magebay's solution didn't work on my site. Please help! Good extension but couldn't figure out how to make it work since the new version! June 25, 2013

Answer:
For some reason they seem to have the calculation setting incorrect and set to (KILO GRAMS) where it should be set to (GRAMS).

A quick fix!

For each product don't use anything below 1.000 grams.

For example: A product may weight 800grams (0.8000) but in most cases this wont show so the shipping methods so use anything above 1.0000.

the extra "0" is calculated as a point of a gram.

Note: Australia Post will ship up to 22kg within Australia and 20kg Internationally.

So the maximum per shipping for this to work is 22.0000.

I hope this helps.

Also, when using the connect manager to install this you will find if using a different theme that some fontis folders will not get added to your theme skin folder.

As Magento has a fall back for this it would not hurt to have these files in the theme folder to perhaps save Magento looking elsewhere as a fall back.

I have successfully set the Table Rates for “Weight vs. Destination” for Australia.

Everything works great except one thing....

It never calculate the correct shipping rates…

Product A - $100
Shipping : $15
Total=$115

But when we put 2 qty of Product A, that brings the
Total to $215
where as it should be $230.

Would you please help me on that, or put more light on this issue.

Also can this ext helps me in any ways?

Running on CE 1.8. I found that I could not get any shipping results to show for domestic shipping.

SHORT ANSWER:
Tick the "Use Registered Post" option or domestic shipping will not show any methods.

LONG ANSWER
Can only assume bug, code doesn't seem logical here:

app/code/community/Fontis/Australia/Model/Shipping/Carrier/Australiapost.php around line 85 I found this little strange condition.

"if ($this->getConfigData('registered_post'))"
Note the lack of curly braces that surround this condition.

This condition appears to force all shipping methods to be hidden for domestic. This doesn't seem correct to me, if you you do not turn on the "Use Registered Post" option in your Aus Post Settings, you will just get no result for domestic.

For the moment I've ticked "Use Registered Post" so all the options come back, but I would assume the correct behavior is for this part of the code to hide any methods with Insurance options if "Use Registered Post" is left off (unticked). In this case

I hope this helps people. It has been bugging me for about 2 hours. Finally tracked down the issue to that line of code.

Also note in this area (a little further down)

if ($this->getConfigData('person_to_person')) {
$charge += 5.50;
} elseif ($this->getConfigData('delivery_confirmation')) {
$charge += 1.85;
}
Hardcoded cost values here scare me. Why would these be hardcoded and not coming from either a setting, or the api calls? If AusPost change this charge, then everyone is hacking code to fix it.

Food for thought anyway. I'm happy I've got this working at least.
