Extension does not "disable" when told to in the store configuration. This is a headache.

Fix for broken button
If your button disappears or shown only a small part of it, put another set of span tags around the button code in qtyswitcher.phtml, like this:
<button onclick="productAddToCartForm.submit(this)" class="button btn-cart" title="Add to Cart" type="button" id="addToCartButton"><span><span><?php echo $this->__('Add to Cart') ?></span></span></button>
Anyway, I'm not sure if it's compatible with AJAX Cart. Please come back with a fix for this.

To bad this doesnt work with Ajax cart..

Seems to work on Magento CE 1.7.0, but it still adds "1" to the cart, when the quantity is switched to "0". Somehow my button disappeared during installlation and was replaced by a gap:
lt;input id="qtyswitcher-form-btn-products" type="image" src="http://xxx.de/skin/frontend/base/default/images/btn-addtocart.png"gt;
When you look into app/design/frontend/../template/qtyswitcher.phtml you'll find
lt;!-- lt;input type="button" id="qtyswitcher-form-btn-products" onclick="productAddToCartForm.submit()" value="lt;?php /** echo $this-gt;__('Add to Cart') */ ?gt;"/gt; --gt;
lt;input type="image" id="qtyswitcher-form-btn-products" src="lt;?php echo $this-gt;getSkinUrl('images/btn-addtocart.png') ?gt;"gt;
which is of course useless without an "addtocart.png" image.
I'm sure that isn't a big deal, somehow that "adding zero" thing disturbs me more.
