    Banner Slider Magento 3.9 5 283 283
Good Extension! Good Extension, installed on Magento CE 1.7 and 1.9.1! December 1, 2014
Reasonable plugin The slider works well although it has a bug that when you upload slides they're added to a sub directory with the name "_" of where they should be. The easiest way to fix this is to move the files yourself although this wasn't a solution for our client so I decided to contact support. After explaining my problem they asked for ftp and magento access to my site which I denied for security reasons and explained I was a developer so would be happy to work with them. I've had no response to my ticket since (over a week). It's a free plugin so you can't expect it to be perfect but don't go giving your access details to anyone. November 18, 2014
I mostly like it. Overall the extension is really useful which is great for something free. But I have some reservations. - As ed1c24 noted, jQuery is loaded for every slider on a page which is wasteful. Other reviews mention conflicts too. For the "RWD" theme jQuery is already loaded and for other themes it should check if jQuery is needed. - Scripts and stylesheets aren't loaded in the head so cannot benefit from the Merge Files setting or any minifier extension, like Fooman Speedster. - Flexslider stylesheet rules lack 'specificity' so are accidentally overridden when included in CMS tags. This results in bullet points showing where they're not expected. This is easy to fix for even a novice themer. - Sliders have no store filter. If a slider has a position other than "custom" then it shows on all stores of your server automatically. - An extra module, 'Magestore_Magenotification', is included in the download that I was not expecting. That was a surprise and when I found out some of it's files are obfuscated I was even more suspicious. This detail was enough to drive me to comment here. Out of curiousity I checked what the extra module was really doing. It is harmless. It contains some license stuff that doesn't need to be there for a free extension. My guess is this is included with all Magestore extensions as standard. October 26, 2014
Module works fine! Like! But I,ve found one error in the section "Implement Cod" of the module's settings: "Add code below to a template file $this->getLayout()->createBlock(bannerslider/default)->setTemplate(bannerslider/bannerslider.phtml)->setBannersliderId(your_bannerslider_id)->toHtml();" but it must be: "Add code below to a template file $this->getLayout()->createBlock('bannerslider/default')->setTemplate('bannerslider/bannerslider.phtml')->setBannersliderId('your_bannerslider_id')->toHtml();" August 22, 2014
Unwanted Bullets in Border of Slider Custom position banner slider displays unwanted bullets in margins of slider. Bullets do not appear when slider is in a standard position. July 21, 2014
Banner Configuration and Support team are excellent! The Slider is best one after searching long and hard for solutions. I was so pleased to have immediate support for the installation and configuration questions I had. And the Magestore had the Slider integrated into my website in a fast turnaround and were available for an other questions I had. I'd recommend purchasing your extensions from Magestore not only will you get a great product for your shop, you will have high quality support! June 24, 2014
It could be better This slider has a lot of configuration options in backend, but it's design structure is rather bad. Jquery 1.7.1 version is included in every slide, and if you have any other plugins installed, which are yousing jquery too, there will be some big problems. CSS styles are also bad structured, some of them are repeating. June 20, 2014
Another great extension from Magestore and amazing support. A perfect banner slider for what we needed. Had an issue when updating the extension using Magento's Connect manager, but Magestore support quickly solved our issue. June 19, 2014
This extension is very usefull This works very fine and the main feature is we got many option like we have to add in all page, or home page or need responsive or not. In setting we have to add start date of previous date, not today date. June 19, 2014
A little flaky at first, but VERY good! I don't know why, but at first it only allowed me to have 3 banners, then it stopped working altogether. Frustrated--because it looked so good--I uninstalled it and then re-installed it. Not sure why I had the initial problems, but it is working great now! Thanks! June 17, 2014

Hi, bannerslider works great on almost any platform, but on IE (9) it just shows the banners underneath eachother. Taking up double the space and no slider.

Compatibility view does solve the problem, but not the desired effect :(

    Answer:
I had that, If you change the style to 'Auto Switch' it solves it.

In admin go to System > Configuration > Banner Slider and change the style over. Still works just fine as a slider but 'auto switch' setting also works on Chrome, IE, Firefox, Opera Mobile and Safari on the iPad.

I have created 4 banners. I set 3 to be shown in the homepage, and i added the code to my cms homepage, it works fine. But i am setting 1 banner to be shown in my categories and it does not show anything. Do i need to do something else? perhaps to paste a code somewhere?

For anyone else running into this problem I found this over in the reviews...

Just a quick fix of my last review. Banner for category can be done easily, remove code <!-- and -->, only these two symbols, not the code between, in file app\design\frontend\base\default\layout\bannerslider.xml.

Not sure why that would be commented out by default, but it works.

    Hope that helps, GREAT EXTENSION!!!

First change the "show in" field of the Banner Slider->Manege Sliders->General Information. Make it category. After that uncomment the code in app\design\frontend\base\default\layout\bannerslider.xml. After that run it. It will surely run...

I've installed the extension on Magento 1.7 CE.

I've created a new slider with a single slide and setted to show it in the Homepage TOP CONTENT.

I've a custom theme simply cloned from default/modern theme (bundled with magento) and i've not modified any file.

I only want a slider in the homepage of the store and i've not understood if i have to modify any layot/template to show it.

Actually in the result i see that the extension is injecting the banner slider js and CSS file... but no slider is shown (no html rendered).

Here's what I'm finding. If you set the start date for an individual banner to the current day, it will not display. If all of your banners are set with a start date of the current day, it will not display any slider.

The start date of the banner needs to be 'yesterday' at the soonest.

    Not a cache issue.

    Answer:
I needed to do this myself, a quick easy way of doing it is to go in to the database and look for the bannerslider table. From here you'll see a record of each banner. You simply change the bannerslider _id value for each banner to the order you want them pulled out, they're pulled out in ascending order i.e 1,2,3 etc - so give the banner you want displayed first the lowest ID.
