Configurable Product Custom Stock Status And More!
Description
Have you ever wanted to display an expected in stock date instead of having the product disappear in a configurable product drop down menu? Well here's your answer!
With this module you are able to set a custom "stock status" in the products edit page for each and every simple product that makes up your configurable product. You can even show the current stock level! Now, when a products quantity drops below 1, the drop down will automatically display "OUT OF STOCK." Then you can go into that products edit page, and add on any additional text, like an expected in stock date. When your product becomes in stock again, the out of stock text is gone. All done automatically! You can also show a pre-order date or shipping date in the dropdown!

Configurable Product Custom Stock Status And More! 26 26Just what we needed We purchased this extension solely for the quantity visibility on configurable products. We had Organic Simple CP extension installed because chances are if you are dealing with config products in your magento store and use associated products, you have discovered the extension to correct the pricing. In the description of this extension, it confirmed compatibility so we purchased Stock Status and installed. Everything went ok but stock qty (the one feature we were after) wasnt showing. After a diagnosis, we discovered it was in fact conflicting with SCP. Chad acknowledged that it shouldn't be conflicting and within 1 day we had the stock showing. Now I will stress this, we had a very expanded store with multiple extensions and configurations. The rest of the extension worked fine and once the edit had been made to SCP/Stock Status, it all worked. So most people purchasing this, you should be good to go. Highly recommend as the extension has features you also might not need but end up making it very useful for your customers! Well done. May 1, 2013Outstanding! Within a couple days I got what I wanted :) February 26, 2013Good but doesn't update stock status message Had this for a good few months now, and it works well but the problem I've found is that there's no functionality to automatically update the stock status message when the product sells out - ie : 3 in stock: you set the stock status message to "in stock" Those 3 sell leaving you with 0 in stock and the stock status message still says "in stock" unless you change it manually. This results in a lot of customer enquiries for why the product says in stock but then out of stock when they add it to their basket. Although I did have to watch out for my directory structure due to the theme I currently have, but it was a cinch to correct.
