This extension will add "Collect in store" as an option in the checkout billing section. Choosing this option negates the need to enter "Shipping Address" details instead the user is presented with a store search screen. Here the user may search for their closest store by address and country or using their devices GPS functionality. The number of results returned and size of the search area can configured in the admin panel. On selecting a store the user continues through the checkout steps as usual. The customer can still click back to change their choice of store if required ( the back button will jump the customer to the correct location depending on the type of delivery they chose ).

This same ability to select a store to deliver to is also available to admin users when creating an order in the back-end admin panel.

Collect In Store acts as a native Magento shipping method, so it will display as expected everywhere any other shipping method would ( admin order view, customer account orders view etc ).

The collection stores can be configured at any time in the admin panel. Each store can be assigned an address and GPS co-ordinates (auto generated from address). Additional info such as opening times or special notes can also be added via wysiwyg editor.

Good extension, almost fantastic I picked the paid version of this extension despite only having a single store because: I like the google maps integration and the paid version is as cheap-as-chips -- if the developer is going to be reasonable about his pricing, I'm more than happy to support him. The extension works really well and I'm very pleased. There are a couple of things stopping it getting a full 5-stars though: there's zero documentation, you can't use the connect manager to install it (so it's going to be a pain to uninstall) and even if you have only a single store, the customer still has to go through the search process which is a bit of a shame. All that said, I'm really happy with the extension. October 5, 2014

Hi Chris

We are looking for a 'collect in store' type solution where we can keep a list of 'selectable' retailers (so far so good).

However, we want to simplify the process as follows:

1. We only want to offer a "Checkout as a Guest" option (we don't need the customer or retailer to login). This is fine as I can manipulate the login.php file in my store/theme and force this.

2. We only want to offer "Collect in Store" as an option only, i.e. not give them an option to ship to a different address. The reason is that the supplier will ONLY ship to one of their accredited retailers. Again, I could probably manipulate this by forcing the option.

3. However, we want the user to select a retailer from a simple dropdown list, rather than search for the nearest retailer by search argument or your location. However, we could also use the "Select Nearest Store" as an option, but as the customer will most likely be with the retailer in store when completing the order, a simple dropdown selection is better.

So, I suppose the question is, can the Shipping Method form be easily overridden to display a dropdown that is populated from the store list (which I assume is a new backend database table, kept up to date via Magento Admin)?

If I had a Wishlist....
Ideally, I would prefer the customer to select the Retailer to do it at the Shipping Information stage and once selected/confirmed, to see the address added to this form so they can confirm and click on Continue. We could also skip the Shipping Method stage as this has effectively been done at the Billing stage, and move straight to Payment Information.

Note: All orders come with Free Shipping, so a Shipping Method step is not required.

For info, we are using Magento Connect 1.6.2

Hope this makes sense - feedback / ideas welcome.
