Store Maintenance 4.6 5 79 79
Does what it says on the tin Brilliant. Simple couple of clicks to take the store offline. Miles better than fiddling about with maintenance.flag and index.php Works with 1.8.1.0 March 31, 2014
Great Product ! Just installed and got everything in just one click !! March 16, 2014
works with 1.8.1 An extension I was looking for. Works as expected. March 12, 2014
Thank you! Very useful extension. Seems to work fine for now on CE 1.8.0.0 Thanks for sharing it free. March 12, 2014
Easy to Use The plugin is awesome and just works perfect as described.!!! March 7, 2014
Nice Works perfectly on a multi-site Magento installation 1.7.0.0. Installed without any problems. Remember to log out of Admin then log back in after installation. To the Dev - many thanks! February 13, 2014
Nice screenshots! However, doesn't work. The install was successful. I was happy to not get error messages like everyone else gets. The settings available are great too! However, with this extension not allowing you to save your settings, the whole thing is useless. February 10, 2014
Works with 1.7.0.2 - Solution for me It took me some time to find out why it works for some people and for some people not. Perhaps this helps also some other users. In my case "Store Maintenance" did not show in the menu. As I am in Germany the backend language has been set to "German". After setting the backend language to "English" and a relog-in the "Store Maintenance" button was in the menu. Setting the language back to "German" the "Store Maintenance" button stays in the menu. January 23, 2014
Should a be core item! Just installed on two sites, both CE 1.8.1 and extension works perfectly. Easy to modify the HTML template, a must have for any store. January 18, 2014
Must Have It's a simple yet powerfull extension. Just a few seconds to make it work and we can customize totally the maintenance page. Thank for developer. December 11, 2013

Does this module work on Magento 1.8? I tried another similar item yesterday, but it gave me a 500 error, so I quickly uninstalled it, and I'm not all that keen on messing things up again.

Answer:
I installed on 1.8.1 successfully. However, this extension removes the "Save Configuration" button at the top. So essentially, no, it does not work on the latest version regardless of the author claiming it does.

Answer:
I have tested v.0.3.3 on mage 1.8.1 community.
works fine, no problems, no additional fiddling after install, so that was good:

tested with/without frontend access option

also tested with allowed IPs

there are some similar mods that do the same thing, i haven't tested them as a comparison, but i will (mmm maybe i have slight case of OCD)

I finally mustered the courage to try this module on my 1.8.1.0 system, and this is the error I got:
"
