Google Content API for Shopping

Google has retired its old Google Base Data API and replaced it with its new Google Content API for Shopping to let back-end staff more effectively upload and manage product and catalog information. This extension allows developers to migrate their eCommerce stores into the new API to ensure that they come up in Google searches.

page refreshes with no products added try the following:- 1) go to GMC & API dashboard, this will show any previous upload errors. youre able to download a zip of server requests/responses. the server response will show the reason for not listing. If nothing is being shown here the problem is mage isnt connecting. 2) Google needs to know a shipping price, this must be set in the GMC site before uploading or a separate attribute from magento January 6, 2013

I install this - seems to work fine, then when I return to admin I receive the following: Mage registry key "_singleton/googleshopping/observer" already exists Trace: #0 /var/www/vhosts/xxx.co.uk/httpdocs/app/Mage.php(222): Mage::throwException('Mage registry k...') ... I tried to install this on 2 of my websites, which are both on 1.7.0.1. On the one site it installed perfectly. On the other site it crashes. Tried it several times! November 28, 2012

Hallo, thanks for the great module. But I good 2 questions. Perhaps anyone got an idea. The images do not get displayed on Google Shopping. There is no "no images" as in comment below, but I dont have a robots.txt current. Any idea? Second, is there any possibillity to add other google categories? Hi, I’ve installed Google Shopping API addons, but, when I’m go in google API section the system return this error: Fatal error: Class \’Varien_Gdata_Gshopping_Extension_Control\’ not found in C:\\Inetpub\\wwwroot\\MYWEBSYTE\\app\\code\\core\\Mage\\GoogleShopping\\Model\\Source\\Destinationstates.php on line 44 I’m use the last 1.7 version of Magento on windows server. Any ideas? Is possible there is a problem with permission on directory? November 21, 2012

I have assigned all attribute mapping and followed all relevant instructions - yet when I try to add items to the Google Content Items, it says 'Google Shopping synchronization process is running' for a few seconds, then the page refreshes, but no products have been added and there is no error message. I am only trying to add around 3 items at a time. Any ideas? November 5, 2012

Products get to google ok. But now I cannot edit my product details keep getting the following error: Invalid method Mage_AdminNotification_Model_Inbox::addNotice(Array ( [0] => Product synchronization with Google Shopping completed [1] => Total of 0 items(s) have been deleted; total of 1 items(s) have been updated. ) ) I cannot edit any product details, images or meta data. I have this installed and it’s works perfectly. My only problem is I show my products excluding VAT (TAX) then add the 20% on checkout. Is their anyway I can configure this to add the VAT to my products when they are uploaded as google require this when uploading data. October 16, 2012

I have 14000 items in the store, only 4200 are active, there is no way see what items are active in the store, so I can bulk select them all? October 16, 2012

I have this installed on version 1.6.1.0 and found it kept timing out if I used more than 20 products. Even at 20 added on the Google content in the Magento side it doesn't guarantee they'll be added to the google merchant account, I often found anywhere between 12-20 products were added there so I had to resynch all the time to find out which ones didn't get uploaded. There needs to be hand-shaking to acknowledge that the products have indeed been added to the merchant account. September 12, 2012

Hello,

I've been using your Google Content API extension from its early days, quite happy with it. However, when I installed its latest version on Magento v1.7.0.1, I'm getting this "...Unable to connect to Google Content. Please, check Account settings in configuration.Error: Authentication with Google failed. Reason: BadAuthentication" error although all account settings are correctly set in config. Do you know anything about this problem?

I think it is worth mentioning that I've been able to add products to Google Shopping using that same Google account but using different extension (which actually uses an online service for submitting to google and other comparison shopping sites), so I don't think the problem might be in the Google account itself.

Any help or insight into this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I've been using your Google Content API extension from its early days, quite happy with it. Why can I not select "Custom" under Google Product Category?

Why is it no possible to choose "Custom" under the Google Attribute set mapping.

I now can only select from this list:

Apparel & Accessories
Apparel & Accessories - Clothing
Apparel & Accessories - Shoes
Media - Books
Media - DVDs & Videos
Media - Music
Software - Video Game Software
Other

However Google also has a group Custom for custom made products that don't need to contain any id's (UPC, EAN, JAN or MPN).

My problem now is that when I sync, my products in Google Shop, it gives me error's back because the Id's are not valid.

Is there any solution to fix this or is there a workaround ?

Missing Files?

I have been trying to get this google shopping extension to work for days now. I am now getting the code below in my log file. Has anyone ran into this on CE 1.7.0.2?

Any advise or hacks on fixing this?
