does it work for enterprise? i had an error. the module installed some core Varien stuff to 1.6.rc1. broke alot July 11, 2011
Great Extension! I have a question. Anyone knows how to submit datafor a multidomain site? My merchant google account only let me put one URL. In magento I can change the scope and the target country for each store view, but my merchant acount must to have the same URL...I don't want to create a merchant account for each domain, or is it required? I read about Multi account and I request it, but I don't have any response. Thanks! July 10, 2011
Maybe this will save someone else a couple of hours... If you have enabled Google's two-factor authentication for your Google account, you will need to generate an application specific password for authorizing this module. See http://www.google.com/support/a/bin/answer.py?answer=1032419 July 7, 2011
Like everyone else, I had to upgrade to 1.5.1 to work, the newest version fixed many of the issues that I had. Now the products in our store are uploading into Google Merchant Center. :-) For those of you who are using 1.4.2 or earlier, I doubt there will be a version that is compatible with 1.4.x or earlier. Magento 1.5.0 and later are Mage based builds, the earlier versions are Pear based, the file structure and code is different. July 6, 2011
This has fixed multiple problems for me, including 'Expected response code 200, got 502', 'MySQL Server has gone away'. Had to upgrade to 1.5.1 though. Remember to flush all caches. July 6, 2011
Everything working like charm now. I had 1.5.0.1 which I upgrade to 1.5.1 and installed this extension and all working great. Let me knw if anyone needs help on this. July 6, 2011
Ok so, everything is in google shopping. But from install i've noticed the script cannot handle over 200 products. It will time out. Any fix for this? July 5, 2011
After installing this extension a new interfaces in Magento back-end will be added: System gt;Configuration gt;Google API gt;Google Shopping Catalog gt;Google Content gt;Manage Attribute amp; Manage Items In System gt;Configuration gt;Google API gt;Google Shopping add your google account details. To upload items to google use Catalog gt;Google Content gt;Manage Attribute amp; Manage Items. Source: http://www.magentocommerce.com/images/uploads/GoogleContentExtension.pdf July 4, 2011
Seems to work great on 1.5.1.0 solved the recent 502 issue caused by google base deprecation but can't find in mapping how to map sku with id July 4, 2011
Works for me, for those having a problem. Please note the following: After installing go to config/google api and fill out your account information. After hat, you want to go to the drop down that google manage items reside. Do not use google base, use the other. I'm not sure i loike how the script locks up the admin panel when a high amount of products are being synchronized. July 3, 2011

    BadAuthentication

    Hello,

I've been using your Google Content API extension from its early days, quite happy with it. However, when I installed its latest version on Magento v1.7.0.1, I'm getting this "...Unable to connect to Google Content. Please, check Account settings in configuration.Error: Authentication with Google failed. Reason: BadAuthentication" error although all account settings are correctly set in config. Do you know anything about this problem?

I think it is worth mentioning that I've been able to add products to Google Shopping using that same Google account but using different extension (which actually uses an online service for submitting to google and other comparison shopping sites), so I don't think the problem might be in the Google account itself.

Any help or insight into this problem would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    Robert

I had the same problem. Here is the solution for the badauthentification issue: in your Google account settings go to the menu Security and allow all apps (also the not so secure ones) access to your account.

Now, that this problem is solved I am faced with the required_destination one. Let's see there surely is a solution for this one as well...

    Answer:
We've all had this problem from time to time.

Sounds like there is a maintenance flag.

There will be a file called maintenance.flag on the home directory on you server.

Delete that file and you're good to go. What happens is why you install applications, you site has this temporary flag and then deletes it. If for some reason you already had the program, or something else made the program not run as intended, the flag gets left.

    Hope this helps!

We are an apparel / clothing company with many different sizes of our clothing. We want to use Google Product Listing Ads but we are struggling to get it setup correctly. We added required fields such as Color, Gender, Age Group, Size to the Google Content Shopping > Manage Attributes for the relevant product types.

But, we are using configurable products with simple products (not visible in catalog / search) attached to do the sizing for variants. So, when we upload the products to Google base, the simple products upload fine as they have all the correct attributes, but they fail the upload for the configurable product because it doesn't have a size associate to it.

So, does the product feed that this creates automatically set an "item group id" like google suggests for product "variants"?

How should this situation be handled to get them all uploaded.

    Answer:
    Don't upload the configurable at all. We added a new attribute "item_group_id" and filled it manually for every simple product with the SKU of the configurable. And did the mapping for the item group id. it shouldn_t be that large effort to do this automtically in code I think, like pseudo code: if (is_simple) {itemgroup_id=configurable->sku()}
I am not sure, but it seems to me it is not that problem to just upload one simple product per configurable and leave the other sizes out. your product will be found regardless of the size submitted. I don't find a field in google shopping where one can choose the size, nor do I think someone uses this. A normal customer just searches, looks at the pictures, and then clicks. (Just assumption)
We also submit the "name" of the configurable product instead of the name of the simple product.

Why is it no possible to choose "Custom" under the Google Attribute set mapping.

I now can only select from this list:

    Apparel & Accessories
    Apparel & Accessories - Clothing
    Apparel & Accessories - Shoes
    Media - Books
    Media - DVDs & Videos
    Media - Music
    Software - Video Game Software
    Other

However Google also has a group Custom for custom made products that don't need to contain any id's (UPC, EAN, JAN or MPN).

My problem now is that when I sync, my products in Google Shop, it gives me error's back because the Id's are not valid.

Is there any solution to fix this or is there a workaround ?

Hi, I've been using this great extension for months. But a few months ago my feed file on google merchant has dissappeared.

Extension is updated, configuration is ok and checked...

I think I'd never had to manually add a feed on google merchant...

On magento, everything seems to be ok. All products added and syncronized and added to my google shopping account.

    What can I do?

    Thank you
