urgent!!!!!! my website crashed after i installed and uninstalled the extension. It shows 503 error on both frontend and admin page. November 1, 2011
Having big problems with this extension. It seems to be more limiting than the previous version. I'm forced to pick a google product category that doesn't match...Here's an example: I can only pick Clothing amp; Accessories gt; Clothing as the default product category and that is assigned to all products! Thats bad! Before I could place each product in the proper Google category. Also I'm trying to put the majority of my products in Clothing amp; Accessories gt; Clothing Accessories gt; Hair Accessories gt; Hair Extensions. H lt;--- but this option is not available. Also when I try to map the product type the categories overwrites it. So I'm seeing the product type as Feather Hair Extensions when it should match the google product category of Clothing amp; Accessories gt; Clothing Accessories gt; Hair Accessories gt; Hair Extensions. AAAAIIIIYEEEEE!!!! You're killing my money! October 26, 2011
No problems installing on 1.6.1 October 25, 2011
I am also getting an error when I try to install this. Even if I try to reinstall it, it tell me: Fatal error: Call to undefined method Varien_Db_Adapter_Pdo_Mysql::dropIndex() in /home/XXX/app/code/core/Mage/GoogleShopping/sql/googleshopping_setup/mysql4-upgrade-1.5.9.9-1.6.0.0.php on line 70 Could think be a problem with my database setup? I am running magento 1.5 October 11, 2011
I am also having the "please wait" issue when trying to map attributes after selecting UK, I now have hardly any products in google which is serious, I upgraded from 1.5 to 1.6 to try and resolve but the issue is still there, lots of people are having this problem on other forums, is there a work around for this October 6, 2011
Just installed on 1.6 with no issue. I'm having an issue that I'm seeking help with however: when I attempt to add products to Google Content from the Catalog tab, I get a 500 Internal Server error. Does anyone know how to solve this issue? Site is hosted on a shared server (godaddy), and the site files are in a sub directory of the hosting root. I'm assuming this may be a CHMOD issue. October 5, 2011
Installing on .1.5.1 - On Install I got the server error so deleted the maintenance.flag file - however I then just got a blank page in admin and in the store - how would I get these back? I've uninstalled for now. Thanks October 2, 2011
On 1.6, I get stuck when I try to map attributes. When I select my country, I get stuck on Please Wait. I was trying to map attributes after upgrading from 1.5 to 1.6. It would say "Can’t save Attribute Set Mapping.” I tried deleting the attribute mapping profile I had, and when I try to add a new one, i am stuck on a please wait screen. What do I have to do to make this work? September 26, 2011
when i install and login my cplane, Fatal error: Class 'Mage_GoogleShopping_Helper_Data' not found in /home2/rareinch/public_html/app/Mage.php on line 520, how to reslove this problem? September 25, 2011
This extension would be great except for 2 major complaints that I have: 1. Product Grid for choosing products to add to Google Content lacks filter columns There is no "Status" column in the grid, so if you have a bunch of disabled products in your store or products that are invisible for some reason, you can't easily filter those out. 2. Google Shopping requires a mandatory "Taxonomy" attribute for US products All products submitted need to have a Category attribute that contains a value from Google's list of predefined taxonomies. This isn't set by default when adding products through this extension. The workaround is to create a custom attribute called "Google Taxonomy" for your products, then specify this for every product and make sure you add it through the custom attribute mapping before you submit your products. BadAuthentication

    Hello,

I've been using your Google Content API extension from its early days, quite happy with it. However, when I installed its latest version on Magento v1.7.0.1, I'm getting this "...Unable to connect to Google Content. Please, check Account settings in configuration.Error: Authentication with Google failed. Reason: BadAuthentication" error although all account settings are correctly set in config. Do you know anything about this problem?

I think it is worth mentioning that I've been able to add products to Google Shopping using that same Google account but using different extension (which actually uses an online service for submitting to google and other comparison shopping sites), so I don't think the problem might be in the Google account itself.

Any help or insight into this problem would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    Robert

I had the same problem. Here is the solution for the badauthentification issue: in your Google account settings go to the menu Security and allow all apps (also the not so secure ones) access to your account.

Now, that this problem is solved I am faced with the required_destination one. Let's see there surely is a solution for this one as well...

    Answer:
We've all had this problem from time to time.

Sounds like there is a maintenance flag.

There will be a file called maintenance.flag on the home directory on you server.

Delete that file and you're good to go. What happens is why you install applications, you site has this temporary flag and then deletes it. If for some reason you already had the program, or something else made the program not run as intended, the flag gets left.

    Hope this helps!

We are an apparel / clothing company with many different sizes of our clothing. We want to use Google Product Listing Ads but we are struggling to get it setup correctly. We added required fields such as Color, Gender, Age Group, Size to the Google Content Shopping > Manage Attributes for the relevant product types.

But, we are using configurable products with simple products (not visible in catalog / search) attached to do the sizing for variants. So, when we upload the products to Google base, the simple products upload fine as they have all the correct attributes, but they fail the upload for the configurable product because it doesn't have a size associate to it.

So, does the product feed that this creates automatically set an "item group id" like google suggests for product "variants"?

How should this situation be handled to get them all uploaded.

    Answer:
    Don't upload the configurable at all. We added a new attribute "item_group_id" and filled it manually for every simple product with the SKU of the configurable. And did the mapping for the item group id. it shouldn_t be that large effort to do this automtically in code I think, like pseudo code: if (is_simple) {itemgroup_id=configurable->sku()}
I am not sure, but it seems to me it is not that problem to just upload one simple product per configurable and leave the other sizes out. your product will be found regardless of the size submitted. I don't find a field in google shopping where one can choose the size, nor do I think someone uses this. A normal customer just searches, looks at the pictures, and then clicks. (Just assumption)
We also submit the "name" of the configurable product instead of the name of the simple product.

Why is it no possible to choose "Custom" under the Google Attribute set mapping.

I now can only select from this list:

    Apparel & Accessories
    Apparel & Accessories - Clothing
    Apparel & Accessories - Shoes
    Media - Books
    Media - DVDs & Videos
    Media - Music
    Software - Video Game Software
    Other

However Google also has a group Custom for custom made products that don't need to contain any id's (UPC, EAN, JAN or MPN).

My problem now is that when I sync, my products in Google Shop, it gives me error's back because the Id's are not valid.

Is there any solution to fix this or is there a workaround ?
