EM Filter Products Widget 12 12the latest version of this module works flawlessly with magento 1.7, and the module's author was helpful answering questions i had. it was easy to customize for our purposes. July 14, 2012Works well EXCEPT it doesn't show Ratings. Please include this! This would be a huge improvement to the product July 1, 2012Kinda nice and it sure does work. The only big minor is that it does not show rating values/stars. :( May 10, 2012This extension is AWESOME! There seems to be a lot of feedback saying this extension does not work. Well I have to report it DOES WORK and WORKS VERY WELL for us. We have a very complex system with more than 20 extensions installed. Initially the extension worked fine out of the box, but as we loading more 3rd party extensions we began to have performance issues with this extension and others, as our overall HS, CSS and HTML grew in size. EM Themes got on board and further optimised their widget to perform faster than before and now it is lightning fast on our site. I wish we could get the same performance out of all the other code we have in our system. Anyway, I would like to report that EM Themes support is great and responsive. But the important thing is this... this extension provides FANTASTIC FUNCTIONALITY we now would not want to be without. Using this extension and widget we can virtually create the functionality of other extensions, avoiding further increasing our installed extension count and system complexity. We find the widget very helpful for creating alternatives to other extensions like, "featured products", ''new products", "configurable and bundled" presentation extensions, and more. It just takes come creative thinking to work out all the ways to apply the widget and get more from your store and more system usability for your customers. January 21, 2012Well, this product still isn't working for me. I've reached out again to the developer as there appears to be an update and user guide posted to their site. I'm not holding out much hope. I'd suggest that everyone STAY AWAY from this for the time being. January 10, 2012Wish there were ONE reviewer that had success... September 14, 2011Big problem is the fact that out of stock products are shown, but the setting is not to show them. This makes this widget useless to me. August 19, 20111) You can't put this widget on a page more than once. 2) For some reason when I add this widget using the popup (within CMS->Pages->etc) it doesn't insert the code for the conditions (filters) when installed on my prod. server. It just completely loses them, while setting everything else. This is despite installing it exactly the same as on my test server and according to the one sentence instructions provided (hard to go wrong you'd think). 3) The documentation is tiny, so when things go wrong (2) there's nothing to help. But this extension has a lot of potential. It could be really useful if only the developers spent a little more time on it.
