Mage 1.9.1 RWD Does not show anything on RWD template. Did try to copy design elements to rwd (solution review below). maybe did something wrong. Please advice. never had problems before with this exention on other versions. June 26, 2014
Doesn't work, waisting of time After following the installation procedure from the HELP directory, the Blog menu appeared in my Magento, however the actual blog page doesn't show any messages or posts. Useless. May 30, 2014
Has a problem with iphone theme Hi,this extension has a problem with magento's iphone theme,when enter blog,it will miss some thing. May 20, 2014
Awesome Blog I installed this blog as per the instructions given in their website. And the blog works perfectly in my website. Its also very easy to customise the blog for looks.. I did some changes like adding read me button. Overall very easy to install and customise. Me being a newbie in web coding easily installed and did the changes. April 6, 2014
Great blog extension! I think this plugin is excellent and covers most of things you could need for multilanguage Magento blog. Minor bugs: Problem with "Date Created" input for non-english site Admin, does not take correctly date from Magento Calendar button. Can be easy corrected manually though. Improvements needed: On every page of blog should be Main title like "Blog", taken from admin panel Blog translation value (otherwise visitor could get lost within many titles and categories if blog/site). Can be added in pages code manually though. After article duplication you should stay in duplicated article in editing mode to make changes (like in Magento product editing pages). Anyway totally recommend. Great blog. March 28, 2014
Works fine, easy and simple Just what i was looking for, no so much options to manage, but perfect for those sites that need only some news and post for SEO. Enough support in different forums to find what i want. March 25, 2014
All everyone could need.. I think this plugin is excellent and covers everything anyone could need within magento. However after 4/5 installs I still havn't got the blog posts displaying. I am using Magento ver. 1.8.1.0 Community Edition. I have installed versions 1.3.1 and 1.3.0 with no luck. I have also cleared cache and done that stuff. Is there anything else I can try? would love to get this working. That aside excellent plugin, keep up the good work. Thanks February 10, 2014
Simple the best! Hi Magento users, I installed to my custom theme. It works perfect....I recommend for you... January 23, 2014

I have faced this issue with a few different sites

The problem I having is when I insert images into a blog post they appear first time round but if I log out, clear my browser cache, & clear my Magento cache, next time I navigate to the blog posts the images previously inserted show as broken images? They have been loaded into the media library but there seems to be an error with the image link or path?

Any ideas?

Answer:
Hello, Ryan.

The error trace point to something which looks like a WordPress Blog.
If that error appeared after the installation of our Blog Magento extension, it is likely that our module clashes with the some WP module.
It is not quite possible to give an y detailed instructions without examining the situation onsite. However, you can try changing our module's "Route To Blog" setting (you can find this option under System-> Config-> aheadWorks Extensions-> Blog-> Blog Settings).
If it does not help, please, contact our support service.
Thank you.

Hello!

You can add the necessary link parameters to the bookmarks though this file: app/ design/ frontend/ your_package/ your_theme/ template/ aw_blog/ bookmarks.phtml
As for removing "cat" from extension's links, it would require customization.
If you need any further guidance on the matter, feel free to contact our support team.

Answer:
Hello!

The extension's RSS feed gets added to the general store RSS menu, and can be retrieved from there.
The extension only supports general Blog feed, it does not allow to segregate by Blog categories.
As for the direct RSS URL, it would look like [domain]/index.php/[route_to_Blog]/rss/
If you need any additional guidance, feel free to contact our support service.

We just notice that blog title is prefix of each post. Such as our blog title is "Blog of Hera Wigs Store", and each our blog post have this prefix then is the post title. We want to remove this blog title from post title or set the blog title as suffix. Because this prefix is not good for SEO.

You can check this page's brower title then you will know that - http://www.herawigs.com/blog/hera-raise-price-from-march-2014-and-price-analyse/

Hello!

The Blog extension allows to insert a block with the links to X latest posts, via the special "Blog: Latest Posts" widget.
If your need is to show actual post content, not just link, customization would be required. The code of the extension is open, you are free to implement any necessary adjustments.

Answer:
Hello!

The "Blog: Latest Posts" widget added by the extension works in exactly the same way as the native Magento widgets do.
You just need to add layout updates in widget setup screen, and choose the desired store area(s) and block position(s).
For instance, to show the block on all products in left sidebar, you can set "Display On" to "All Product Pages", and "Block Reference" to "Left Column".
Please, refer to Magento docs to learn more about widgets usage.
Thank you.

Hello!

The Blog extension adds its own section to the store (by default, the route to this section is "domain_name.com/blog/" ).
The links to this section can be added to Top menu and Footer section, you just need to enable the correspondent options in the "Menus And Links" tab of the module's backend menu. Or, you can insert the links manually to any desired store area/ position.
Thank you.

Answer:
Hello!

Although the Blog extension has not yet been fully tested with 1.9, the preliminary tests showed that the extension should work fine with the rwd theme.
Please, check if the extension's design files (templates, layouts and skins) were copied from the default theme to rwd folders, it is the most probable reason for such problem.
If you need more detailed guidance on the matter, feel free to contact our support service.

Hello to the developers, many thanks for your recent update! I installed it on my Magento 1.6.2.0 installation, but the main index page/list of posts now shows a toolbar to sort the posts and view per X posts, just like a typical product page.

I tried to disable this top/bottom toolbar in the post index or category lists, but despite removing all references of the block (name="aw_blog_list_toolbar" etc.) in aw_blog.xml, the toolbar persists!

I cannot find any other file in the app/design/frontent/default code that references to this toolbar.

Can you please help? Where are you calling this toolbar for indexing the posts? How can one remove it an have the posts just appearing one below the other?

Perhaps you accidentally hard-coded this toolbar?

Many, many thanks!

Answer:
Hello, Konstantinos!

Your approach seems correct, removing the block references from the extension's layout file should have disabled the toolbar block in the frontend.
Since it didn't happen, we can assume that some sort of caching may be in place at your store. Please, try flushing all the cachers you may have active, it is likely to solve the problem.
If it does not help as well, feel free to contact our support service for further details.
Thank you.

I will like to add alt tags to "blog-image" in the image field while composing a post for SEO purposes. It just has an upload image button so there is no text box or editor to write the codes. Is it possible to tweak the raw file to provide this?

Any help will be appreciated.

Answer:
Hello!

As far as I understand your idea, you are inserting an image to the post content via the WYSIWYG editor. To add alt tags to the image, just switch to plain HTML mode (click "Show / Hide Editor" button), you will then be able to add the necessary code.
Thank you.

I have add one more input field to the form:

app/code/community/AW/Promotion/Block/Manage/Promotion/Edit/Tab/form.php

$fieldset->addField(
'detail2',
'editor',
array(
'name' => 'detail2',
'label' => Mage::helper('promotion')->__('Detail2'),
'title' => Mage::helper('promotion')->__('Detail2'),
'style' => 'width:700px; height:100px;',
'config' => $config,
)
);

I also add one more filed in database table.

It look like only can load the text from database.
But cannot save to database.

Would you please give me some hints or add an image field in coming version as I want the list view show as a image grid.

Answer:
Hello!

As far as we understand the situation, what you need is a code for processing the extra input field you have added.
Such request is considered a customization, and unfortunately, we do not provide detailed guidance on how to customize our products.

Thank you.
