Easy to install but hard to get working
This extension seemed to be very resource intensive. We have a large database, and therefore many orders, but I don't think much larger than any other esite with over 2000 SKUs. But every time the extension ran, server flags were raised. After much back and forth with the extension provider regarding whether the extension could run once a day during off peak hours (no, they recommend every 5 minutes which seems excessive), I'm not even sure what they had really fixed, if anything, but all of a sudden the server load is back to normal and has no more flags even after running for about a week now. We have the job running every 1/2 hour and it seems to be doing ok.
The other issue we ran into was an error that was repeated every time the extension ran, and the abandoned cart email continuously regenerating and not sending. Another ticket to the help desk and file edit, and the error is gone and abandoned cart emails are now sending.
Overall a good extension but a site would definitely want to check that the server can handle it.

Great Product, worth every penny
This is something that is very important tool for all online retailers. you really dont know how many folks abandonded the cart and for what reasons. This extension helps the retailer understand what is happening and more than often you get the customer to come back and complete the transaction.
Few improvements that could be had would be:
1. allow a field for customers to fill in the reaon they did not complete the purchase.
2. no free updates are offered. bug fixes and updates are something that majority of extension providers offer at no charge.

Very handy and useful!
We are using this extension for some of our shops and even recommending it for shops of our customers. It is really easy to choose when to send an email and to define the exact events. Excellent extension comprehensive features
If you are serious about implementing follow up email campaigns then this is the extension to go with. Very flexible, comprehensive and thoughtfully designed. The team offers great support too.
I would also recommend reading through the documentations thoroughly to you know how everything works.

Hats off for your support!
I'm working with this extension in two shops in the meanwhile and I'm perfectly satiesfied. I was facing a minor problem during the last installation as there was a conflict with another extension - my ticket had been dealt with whitin just a few minutes, problem had been solved in less than half a day. 1,000s of emails sent to one customer!
Follow up email worked rather well until this weekend.
I had set up a basic follow up email rule around 2 years ago.
1. Customer abandon cart
2. Email is sent to customer
(Cancellation event is customer completes payment)
On Saturday there was no one in our office and yet for some bizarre reason, follow up email generated thousands of emails to 5 customers who had abandoned carts one time each. It would not stop, it just kept emailing them over and over again until I disabled the extension.
Aheadworks will say "contact our support" but then when I contact their support, support will say "sorry you are outside of the included support period".
Has anyone else had this serious issue occur? Why on earth does follow up email not have restrictions so it cannot send the same email thousands of times!?

Useful, needs setting up well for max effectiveness
Useful extension. Fairly well thought out.
Make sure that you get it working as soon as you buy it - the free support period expires quickly (3 months vs 6 from some other developers.
Aw were great in fixing errors in the way that this worked on my live site (once I paid for support extension - which was actually great value considering the amount of time they put into it).
I think this could use some more 'hooks to cancel', eg a nice one would be to link with their HelpDeskUltimate to auto-cancel pending emails when a support ticket is received.
