Follow Up Email by aheadWorks

With the Magento Follow Up Email module, you can follow up your customers with fully automated emails. The Follow Up Email extension allows you to stay in close touch with your consumers by sending auto-emails to them basing on any event: abandoned cart, order obtained certain status, customer added product to wishlist, etc.

Magento abandoned cart email can contain whatever you want. You can insert coupons, purchased products, pictures, tracking codes, restore cart links into follow-ups and define conditions to send emails (customer group, sale amount, product category, subscription status, etc.). It’s an essential Magento email marketing tool.

You can also analyze the efficiency of your follow-ups by tracking customers who placed orders or not after clicking on the emailed link.

Extremely easy installation, good support Though our shop is highly costomized, the installation worked like charm. A smaller problem was solved by the support very quickly. Easy to install but hard to get working This extension seemed to be very resource intensive. We have a large database, and therefore many orders, but I don't think much larger than any other esite with over 2000 SKUs. But every time the extension ran, server flags were raised. After much back and forth with the extension provider regarding whether the extension could run once a day during off peak hours (no, they recommend every 5 minutes which seems excessive), I'm not even sure what they had really fixed, if anything, but all of a sudden the server load is back to normal and has no more flags even after running for about a week now. We have the job running every 1/2 hour and it seems to be doing ok. The other issue we ran into was an error that was repeated every time the extension ran, and the abandoned cart email continuously regenerating and not sending. Another ticket to the help desk and file edit, and the error is gone and abandoned cart emails are now sending. Overall a good extension but a site would definitely want to check that the server can handle it. July 22, 2013

Great Product, worth every penny This is something that is very important tool for all online retailers. you really dont know how many folks abandonded the cart and for what reasons. This extension helps the retailer understand what is happening and more than often you get the customer to come back and complete the transaction. Few improvements that could be had would be: 1. allow a field for customers to fill in the reaon they did not complete the purchase. 2. no free updates are offered. bug fixes and updates are something that majority of extension providers offer at no charge. Hi, pre-sale question.
My client sells lenses in their Magento website.
He was to send every customer an email after 6 months of their purchase, is this possible with this addon?

And is it possible to send their previous order in the mail?

Hello,

I want to send an email to customers after their first purchase, thanking them and offering them a discount on their next purchase. However, I only want to send this after their first purchase, and not after each subsequent one.

Is that possible with this extension? If not, then alternatively, would we set it up to only send such an email to a client when the same email has not already been sent within the last X number of days?

Hello,

Unfortunately Follow Up Email does not provide such functionality out of the box, however it can be achieved by using the module in conjunction with another product of ours: Market Segmentation Suite, which would allow filtering customers by a number of placed orders.

The interest could be by prior orders, by abandoned cart, etc. The there could be a series of categories that might match and I'd like the ability to try one category, see if it converted, try another category, etc. and see the results to determine which category works best for that customer.

Our Follow Up Email extension does not seem to be an appropriate solution for your aim, its workflow differs from what you seem to be looking for.
I would suggest that you check our Advanced Newsletter and Market Segmentation Suite extensions instead, if you use these 2 together, you will be able to send the targeted emails you are after.

Hi there,

Love the addon it works great.
Today i was looking in de database of our Magento webshop. What i noticed that the table "aw_core_logger" is getting really big. Is it safe to TRUNCATE the table? Or do i need to this somewhere else?

First of all, it's great to know that you like our module.
As for the actual situation: it is safe to truncate the "aw_core_logger" table, just make sure that you do not remove the table completely. We generally recommend that you keep the records for the last month, the older entries can be dropped.
Also, to avoid similar problem in the future, you can decrease the record keeping period. You can do so in "aheadWorks Extensions Logging" tab (under aheadWorks Extensions > Info in Configuration).

Hello,

I'm looking for a plugin which allows me to send product-specific order confirmation emails. Currently, a general email is sent to the customer for order confirmation. What I want is to create a separate email template for each product and have this new email go out alongside the general order confirmation email. Does your plugin support this functionality?

The module allows sending automated emails on order completion (or any other order status), and supports SKU-based filters. I.e., you can send a special email for each of the products.

Is it possible to use own created atributes as a condition in the rules.

Is it possible to send two differt emails based on one order. For example when the customer wille receive two deliveries based on two different products in his order.

The Follow Up Email extension itself can only use product SKU, Category and type for validating order content.
However, it is possible to check some specific product attributes (including custom ones) if the Follow Up Email is used together with our other product, Market Segmentation Suite.
As for sending multiple emails for the same order, it is possible, you will just need to create the correspondent number of Follow Up rules.

Hi - it looks like the regular abandoned Cart report in Magento only records if the customer has created an account. Does this extension have that requirement or will it work even if they don't?

If so, will these abandoned Carts (i.e. of guests) show up in the Abandoned Carts report?

Hello!

The Follow Up Email extension is capable of sending abandoned cart reminders to unregistered users, but only in case such a user submits their email address on the checkout screen before leaving the store.
The "Abandoned Cart" emails sent to guest users are tracked by the module (via its separate "Link Tracking" function). However, the extension will not affect the native Magento Abandoned Carts report in any way. The guest abandoned carts will still not be displayed in the native Magento reporting.
