Flagbit Change Attribute Set
About
In Magento every product has a fixed attribute set that cannot be changed after the product's creation. This is in many productive contexts not an acceptable limitation. This module overrides the standard behaviour and makes it possible to change attribute sets after the item's creation making Magento even more flexible. :).
Compatibility
We do not use any rewrites anymore. So we should be fully compatible with any other modules.
Though we did not test this extensively the extension should be compatible with the Enterprise Edition. We have lots of positive feedback about running it with the Enterprise Edition.
Technical Background
The extension simply switches the Attribute-Set-ID. Which has a side effect: If you switch back your attribute values are still present. BUT it may also litter your database as the values not used anymore still use up space in your database. If you have lots of products you may want to clean up this.

Flagbit Change Attribute Set 97 97Does not work with the enhanced admin grid (gets overwritten) June 18, 2012Just a heads up to others. Disable compilation and flush cache before installing. You may re-compile and enable compilation afterwards. If you don't do this you'll break the admin panel. You should always do this, in the interests of good practise, when installing extensions but usually it doesn't matter, it does in this case! Thanks to the dev! I was trying to modify core using local over-ride to do the same thing but couldn't get it to work. Looking at your code, you took a different approach but very similar. Leaves me wondering why my approach didn't work. Anyway I like it. I like it a lot. Thanks!
