Simple Configurable Products

This extension changes the way that the pricing of Configurable Products works in Magento.

With Simple Configurable Products, the price for configurable products is taken directly from the associated simple products rather than the configurable product itself.

This gives site owners direct control over the price of every individual configuration of a product, while still giving users the flexibility they usually get with configurable products. There's no more having to set rules such as: +20% for blue, -£10 for small, +15% for leather. You just price the underlying small-blue-leather product at £199.99 and that's what the user pays.

• Dynamic update of product image/description/name to match the matching associated product

Version 0.4 introduces Magento 1.2.0.x compatibility, improves localisation support and fixes a bug which stopped Custom Options working with simple products when this extension was installed. Version 0.5 fixes several bugs, adds Magento 1.2.1.x compatibility and adds support for display of the tier pricing table for Magento versions 1.2 and upwards. To get this to work properly in 1.7 you need to replace the configurable.php file with this new code specified here https://github.com/magdev/magento-configurable-simple/blob/6d88e5e1846713f579f79905dc3ed35112772ebc/app/code/community/OrganicInternet/SimpleConfigurableProducts/Catalog/Model/Resource/Eav/Mysql4/Product/Indexer/Price/Configurable.php In that directory. Then Re-Index. July 23, 2012

This extension is a must-have if you have a lot of configurable products, I've been using it for years. Note that the extension hasn't been updated in quite some time, but you can find fixes for current issues on github as the community has been taking care of it. July 20, 2012

Installed the latest version from github on 1.6.2. Had to remove the group_price changes for 1.7, but now it works flawlessly. Great job! June 29, 2012

Not sure if this extension is being actively developed anymore? Hope i'm wrong. I used it on my 1.4.1.1 installation perfectly, upgraded to 1.7 and now I've got many issues, solved some but support hasn't replied, github looks quite dormant and I can't see a solution coming, images will not update, no shipping quotes are available if configurable product are in the cart on their own and when a product is configured the basic option only is added to the cart. If you've got 1.7 be wary of using this extension now. June 17, 2012

This is one of the most useful extensions to Magento for products. The current version at the time of this post requires a bit of modding as listed on its github page, though. Not sure why people are using these reviews as a help forum... :/ June 12, 2012

Everything is working great except that when adding to the cart it does not reflect the simple product tier pricing. I am on 1.6.2 and updated files with //github.com/organicinternet/magento-configurable-simple/pull/85 info. Any other suggestions to get this to work correctly with tier pricing? June 7, 2012

Error with Simple Configurable Products and Cross-Sell

I am having a problem that with extension and cross-sell product associated to configurable products…
I have a configurable product with some simple products as associated products… in the frontend I open the configurable product and I add to cart one of the simple associated products.
I have set cross-sell products for the configurable product added to cart bu the “cross-sell” section are not shown on the “Cart” page.
Have you a solution for this? Thanks!
