This extension will improve the default Magento Search to produce refined results when multiple search terms are used. This helps tremendously for users to actually find the products they are looking for, especially for stores with larger catalogs (10K products and above).
To top it off, this extension actually introduces an automatic refinement where if the search results returned contain less than a defined number of results it will revert back to searching wide, so the user will never see a zero search result set if there are at least partially relevant items in your store. The minimum trigger is configurable through the Admin panel. We recommend setting the minimum trigger to 0 but some cases may prompt a different usage.
The extension will allow three operational modes: disabled, always refined results, and automatic refinement (recommended).
Will turn this extension off and revert back to the original Magento search functionality.
Will return a refined search result set for multiple terms, but if the number of results is below certain preconfigured minimum trigger (zero for example) the functionality will automatically revert back and a wider set of search results will be returned. This provides more sensible behavior to the end user, so they are never presented with zero results if there are at least partially relevant items available.
Will return a refined search result set for multiple terms but if the minimum trigger number of results is detected, zero for example, the functionality will automatically revert back and a wider set of search results will be returned.
