Flexslider
Description
Flexslider by Solide Webservices is one of the few fully responsive image slider for Magento that can be easily managed from the backend from Magento. It allows you to add unlimited responsive image and video (Youtube and Vimeo) sliders on any page, category, product page or static block of your choice. This extension uses one of the best responsive slider in the market, the Flexslider2® from WooThemes which is available under the GPLv2 license.

Notes
This extension uses the jQuery library. If you have other extension installed that also come with jQuery you can choose to load a jQuery version that does not cause a conflict between the extensions or even not to load jQuery with the Flexslider extension to avoid conflicts between extensions. If this does not solve the issue please refer to the included documentation.
Please logout and login again in the admin backend after installing the extension. This is needed to avoid caching issues with the extension.
Some webservers can not load the dynamic stylesheet (PHP file) from the skin directory and therefor the styling isnt loaded. If you experience this issue please refer to the included documentation for a solution.
Options
Below are some of the options that can be configured in this extension.
Maximum Width: The slider is responsive but you can set a maximum width.
Slider Type: The Flexslider extension allows you to create different kind of sliders that can be set on a group basis. See the demo for examples.
Slider Theme: The extension comes with a select number of themes. Advanced users can also create their own slider specific custom theme.
Navigation Arrows: Select if and how you want to show the navigation arrows used for navigating back and forward between slides.
Pagination: Select if and how you want to show the pagination used for navigating between slides.
Pause on navigation or hover: Make the slider pause when a user clicks on the navigation or hovers over the slider with the mouse.
Use external image hoster: On a slide basis you can select to use an external image hoster instead of uploading the image.

Best extension for sliding banners I've ever found!
I looked all over for a sliding banner extension that was both responsive and allowed for html on top of the images. This was the only one that I could find that allowed for both. It also has amazing functionality for multiple slider groups and it's very easy to implement onto multiple pages within your site. I had a couple small issues with a jQuery conflict within my Magento theme and the developer was able to get it fixed in no time. Love this extension and the developer!

An excellent extension with excellent support
This slider extension is the only slider i found that has the feature of fluidity ( it resize itself to fit the space available when the browser window is enlarged or shrunken); a highly needed feature that makes the slider integrates itself nicely into any fluid or non fluid template or theme.
I has some other sliders installed in my website, so as expected a jQuery conflict and some other issues happened. I tried to solve it on my own, but couldn't, so I emailed the developer, and within minutes he responded offering to access my website to fix the issue. and in less than an hour he fixed the jQuery conflict and all the other issues and sent me a very kind and detailed email. Needless to say, I love the extension a lot. it provides flexibility that is not available in all other sliders i checked or installed. I am sure that with more effects added in the future, this extension is definitely will be the best you can lay your hands on. recommended AAAA+++++
