Answer:
If you installed the module you created you need to clear the cache to be able to view it in the backend. Also if you have the compilation enabled disable it, then recompile everything if needed. After that you should see a new top menu item in the backend menu. That should be what you are looking for. If you still get no results, then look in the folder var/modulecreator/package for an xml file with the same name as your module (Namespace_Module.xml). PM me that file so I can recreate the module on my site and see what's wrong.
Best of luck.
Marius.

Answer:
Hello Vinoth. Unfortunately you cannot create a multiple file upload input with this extension. To my knowledge Magento does not support multiple upload fields (except for the image uploads for products). But you can create as many simple upload fields as you want for each entity. Just add as many file fields as you need.

I just answered your previous question. You cannot add multiple upload fields. Just more than one simple upload field. Click the 'Add field' button for your entity and select type 'file' for the new attribute. Do this as many times as you need.

Answer:
You have to be more specific than that. Are you getting a 404 Error when trying to use the extension, Or in system->Configuration->Ultimate module creator, or in the backend for the extension you created using the module creator?
If the error appears when trying to use the module creator then clear the cache and disable the compilation.
If the error appears in the module you created then don't use uppercase letters in the module name. There is a small bug that will be fixed in the next version. So "Modulename" is Ok, "ModuleName" is not ok. Also clear the cache and disable compilation.
If the problem lies in system->configuration then logout and re log in.
If your error is not solved by anything from above the please add more details about how to reproduce it.

This has been asked before. I cannot reproduce this issue, but it may have something to do with the max path allowed by the OS for double extraction of a zip. You can try to get the extension from github: https://github.com/tzyganu/moduleCreator. You shouldn't have this issue if you get it from there.

Answer:
The 'update' option is valid only for when you create an archive.
The module creator does not support editing an already installed module.
I know what you mean, but it's a little complicated to do diffs between 2 versions.
Also if you edit a module and save it again as an archive , when you decide to install it you have to remove the tables for that specific module and the record from the `core_resource` table to be able to install it in the new version.

I might suggest using the new version of this extension (though it is in beta - that's why is not available here yet, but it will be soon so use with caution). That one will also generate a file with the sql queries you need to run to delete an installed module. https://github.com/tzyganu/UMC1.9

Is there a way this entity type can be added to the Data Import profile?

Answer:
This is not possible. There is no import functionality for the modules you create using this extension.

For now you will have to transform your data into sql inserts and run them directly on the db.

But this is actually a good idea. I will try to include such a functionality in the new version for this module creator that I'm working on now.

Answer:
In this version of the module creator you can only place the menu for your module between the main menu items. But I will release soon(-ish) a new version, 1.9, in which you should be able to place the menu of your module anywhere in the menu tree.

You can give it a try: https://github.com/tzyganu/UMC1.9. It is still on beta so be careful with it.

(In case someone is reading this much later than I posted it, check the latest version of the extension. It if's 1.9.0 or above then this feature is already supported).

You are right, this is a bit of a problem. And I will explain why is this. When I created this extension I tried to replicate with it the way that the CMS static pages behave. And there you have to enter the url key manually each time. I consider changing this in the future. I plan to make this just as it works for the products, I don't want to add an other setting because there are already a lot of them.

I successfully created a module and I'm able to display the output on a Product Detail page. However getting the module output that is related to products to display on the grid pages seems not to work.
I'm able to use getChildHtml to show some testoutput but the Collection seems empty. Do I need to make the Module output available to List views the same way this needs to be done for Attributes? Or is there something else I'm doing wrong? (final question ;-)

Answer:
You need to edit the `list.phtml` file (the one that lists the products) and inside the foreach loop you can retrieve the book authors for a product like this:

<?php
$collection = Mage::getResourceSingleton('{{module}}/{{entity}}_collection')
->addStoreFilter(Mage::app()->getStore())
->addProductFilter($product);
$collection->getSelect()->order('related_product.position', 'ASC');
?>
Replace `{{module}}` and `{{entity}}` with your module name (all in lowercase) and the entity name (also lowercase).
`$collection` will contain the book authors and you can do this:
<?php foreach ($collection as $item) : ?>
<a href="<?php echo $item-<get{{Entity}}Url()?>"><?php echo $item->getName()?></a>
<?php endforeach;?>
Again replace {{Entity}} with your entity name (first letter uppercase, the rest lowercase).

Also if it doesn’t work with `getName` you need to replace that with the correct function that retrieves the entity name (getTitle, or something like that). It depends how the code looks like for the attribute you set to behave as name when you created the module.

I was wondering if it would be a good idea to add the option in the module creator to add a Custom Magento Index for the Module. My Module has 3000+ items listed. Almost as much as the products in the backend.
Hope to hear from you what the pros and cons are.

I'm not sure I understand. And index to what? If you are referring to an index just like the 'catalog product flat index' there is no point for that. The entities are already 'flat' (one instance = one row in a table).
The new version that I'm working on (1.9) supports EAV entities and here an indexer makes sense. It is planed but not in the next release.

Answer:
You cannot make the file and image attributes required because it's a little more complicated to make a file input required.It doesn't work like it does for text attributes where you can just add a simple "required-entry" class. For example, if you do that, then when you edit an entity you the field will be required eve if you already have an uploaded image when you added the entity.

There is an explanation here on how you can make a file input required: http://magento.stackexchange.com/a/1243/146. I didn't implement that in the module creator yet because I didn't have the time. It is on my list for the next versions.

I was not able to reproduce this. Make sure you cleared the cache after installing the generated extension.
Also make sure that the file you upload is not over the allowed limit of your server. Test with a small file.
If the problem persists send me the xml for the generated module. The file should be found in 'var/modulecreator/package' and should have the same name as your extension 'Namespace_Module.xml'. You can send it to me via this forum (as a PM) or at the e-mail address you will find in any of the code files of the module creator.

Answer:
Here are the steps you need to follow.
- Make sure the extension files are present in your magento instance.
- clear the cache (clear it manually by deleting the contents of folder var/cache)
- disable the compiler (you can enable it later).

If none of the above work for you then check the var/log folder for errors.
If nothing is there, then send the module xml file at the e-mail address you find in the code of the module creator (or PM it to me). The file is located in `var/modulecreator/package` and it has the same name as your module `Namespace_Module.xml`. With it I can recreate the extension ad see what's wrong with it.

Answer:
Hey.Good to hear you like the extension.
Now for the error.
First you can try to identify the error. You can enable the developer mode on magento an uncomment this line in index.php `ini_set('display_errors', 1)`. THis should display the error messages on the screen. So instead of seeing a white page you should see an error message. If the error message does not help you figure out what the problem is, post it in here or send it to me by e-mail. You will find an e-mail address in any code file of the module. Look in the methods comments.

You can also send me the file generated by the module creator for your extension so I can reproduce it on my side and see what's wrong. The file should be located in `var/modulecreator/package`and should have the same name as your extension `Namespace_Module.xml`.

The module produces a module.tgz file which contains the install script and the php files (as .ph files). When trying to upload the zip file through the connect manager, it is not installed as invalid. So how should someone install the produced file?

Thank you
NB

P.S. By the way, when saving module with "Install new extention..." it doesn't work. Does this need some extra configuration?
P.S.2 In any case, great module

Answer:
Hello nickbats.
The archive created by the module creator is not compatible with the connect manager. It is just a simple archive with all the files and folders of the extension. It's a tgz archive containing a tar archive. So you need to un archive it and just copy the folders inside it over the corresponding folders in the application. So `app` goes over mageto's `app`, `skin` over `skin` and so on. Nothing should be overwrittern. All of them should be new files.

As for installing it directly, you need write permissions over all the files an folders. I will not recommend you this approach, it is there just for testing purposes.
When you are done, clear the cache.

If you already have permissions on all files and folders and you cleared the cache and nothing is installed, please post an issue here: https://github.com/tzyganu/UMC1.9/issues explaining how to reproduce the problem.

Answer:
Yes. The modules you create with the UMC support multilanguage.
In the files that are created there is the language file also. You will find it in the correct place for the `en_US` locale. So it will be located in `app/locale/en_US/[Namespace]_[Module].csv`. If you need the translation for an other language, just copy it in the folder corresponding to the language and translate the texts. Just like you do for a core module.

Answer:
As discussed on PM, for each entity you create you need to assign a set of fields. At least one of these fields need to be of type text, decimal or int and must behave as name.
I think you understood wrong what the module creator does. Let's say you want to create a new entity called Computer. Please don't confuse this with trying to create a new product called computer. That's not what it does.

For that computer I assume you will need a few attributes, like brand, CPU, and so on. Among these you will need a computer name also. Just add an attribute called name and mark it to behave as name. And please try to write in proper English. Avoid 'bcz' or 'u'. It's kind of hard to read or understand your questions.
