Does not work for single images
I was hoping this would improve upon Mageno's poor user experience with its standard image gallery. I'm sure it does when you have more than one image for every product, but if your store is anything like mine, most products only have one image.
As another reviewer described, if a product has only one image, and you have the "exclude" box ticked (since you don't need the "more images" box), then all this extension does is make the image clickable. Clicking the image just opens the image in the current window. Not what I wanted, at all.

"Fancybox" works perfectly on mobile devices
We have tested this extension on various mobile devices. We highly recommend Lightbox Type = "Fancybox" for any responsive themes.

Works but can do with a tweak
The product works great and the lightboxes are beautiful! However I do have one minor feedback:
The logic for "more views" doesn't make sense to me in file skinurl\template\ig_lightbox2\catalog\product\view\media\gallery\[lightbox type].phtml:
You remove the thumbnail for the image that matches the current product's main image AFTER the count($this->getGalleryImages()) logic.
This means if the product only has one image, it will show no thumbnails but still has "More Views" with an empty <ul> tag underneath.
I solved it by removing the lines:
if ($_product->getImage() == $_image->getFile())
as we should use the "exclude" checkbox in the product image tab to remove any images from the thumbnail gallery.
Then I used
if (count($this->getGalleryImages()) > 1):
since if there's only one thumbnail, there's no point in displaying the thumb gallery.
Alternatively, if you still want to let lightbox remove the matching thumbnail, then the foreach loop should happen before the count() condition - use a counter variable to determine gallery size instead and put the <li> blocks in a string.
Hope this makes sense and is helpful!

Finally a working Lightbox for 1.7
It works like a charm!
The only small issue is when you have only one image, and it will still show the "More images" block.
Aside from that, I am using with Fancybox option and it is working, even with my customized template!

As per the original Easy Lightbox extension this plugin works beyond reasonable expectations. I am happy. Well so I thought, I did notice a small bug that doesn't seem to have been picked up by the developer (yet).
If you have a single image on a product page with the 'Exclude' option selected in admin, the image will preview in an empty page when double clicked on the frontend.
Other than that - a great extension!
