Call For Price V2.5 is a lightweight but highly useful mod to the popular Magento e-commerce framework. This mod adds a new administration tab to all products that will provide the option to remove the "add-to-cart" button from that products Grid/List/Display page and allow you to display a custom text snippet of your choice.

March 15, 2012Hi, I have upload the files in the correct place, added the snippets, re-indexed/cached. Still prices are still there. February 24, 2012Further to my findings 3 days ago, I now installed this on a dev server and I note one for me undesirable effect and one big issue which prevents me from putting this live. First, if Call for Price is set on a product, it automatically also lists it as out of stock, to hide the add to cart button. I can understand the need to get rid of the add to cart button, but I don't want to show 'out of stock' as this is not out of stock and nobody will ring if there is no price and no stock. So it should show "Call for Price" and then "In Stock, order by Phone/Email" or something along those lines. A bigger issue is that this completely breaks Grouped Products, which I use a lot. They can't be bought any more, the associated products disappear. That's obviously unacceptable so I'll e-mail them when I get a chance. November 17, 2011I need something like this for 1.3.2.4 so bought this extension as it's one of few who lists 1.3 compatibility explicitly. I always go through the code before uploading and really, this module is quite messy. You have DreamWeaver _notes folders still in there with dwsync.xml files, Shortcut.lnk and it's not clear whether we should use version 2.0 or 2.5. The latter appears to be for Magento 1.6 only. Based on this, I would be apprehensive about installing this in to a production environment though I may just have to give it a stab. November 14, 2011buying the extension in the webshop works for me like a charm. I was able to download the files. Then I had a problem to cut-and-paste the code snippet from the pdf-file. So I had to write it manually.
