Call for Price
MagePlace Call for price extension gives you possibility to modify product pricing display on your Magento e-shop product pages. This extension allows showing a “Call for price” note instead of product prices and “Add to cart” button. The call for price Magento extension serves to induce customer to contact you and inquire about the price. This is a great solution in cases when price is equal to 0 or when the end-price should be discussed with the customer personally and depends on his final requirements.
The “Call for price” extension is compatible with all latest Magento versions, including Magento 1.7 !
The “Call for price” tag can be applied to a single product and to a product category or subcategoryas well. This feature can be enabled by the Magento store administrator in the product management tool (separate tab in product information) or in the category management tool.
This extension might be useful for you because zero price disables the “Add to Cart” button which means losing leads and sales. Therefore instead of zero price you would prefer to display a text message and tell your customer the price for the product in person

It can be applied individually to simple or configurable products, or via 'Manage Categories' so it can applied an entire category, a feature which saved us hours. It was installed by the developers on 1.7, there was a slight issue but Mageplace support fixed it quickly. Great extension and great support. Many thanks.
