Brand Navigation (Shop By Brands) Extension is use to show your brands on the sidebar column (left or right).
Also BrandNavi module overrides the URL controller for creating the SEO brands links: http://YouMagentoStore/Symantec, http://YouMagentoStore/Nokia, http://YouMagentoStore/Sony, etc.
This extension used a JavaScript technique for creating tree navigation menu with brands and it can be used with any magento themes (modern, default or custom). Menu can be customized via CSS file.
