Avid Canonical URL

Generates and inserts a Canonical URL tag into the page.

Each product or category will have exactly one Canonical URL

  1. Gets the actual category URL if on a category page.
  2. If on a product page, will get the 'deepest' URL possible for that product, i.e. with the most categories in URL.
  3. For CMS pages will get the correct URL from database.
  4. For other pages will tidy up the URL, including trailing slashes.
  5. Simple and customisable code

Did not work! I installed the extension and after that point all my product pages started to show the same text in the page. A link which on the top of the page and nothing else. Is it a solvable problem? December 19, 2013
Easy to use, just install and go. At first I was looking at Yoast Canonical extension, but it only supports 1.4, this has a much wider range of support and I see the <link ref> in my header now. I didn't even have to configure anything so it likely just uses the catalog url rewrite rules to generate them. September 5, 2013
This is what I was looking for! I prefer this one to the canonical link core of Magento. Canonical URL of the products is complete with the category path: www.yoursite.com/category_path/product_url.html July 17, 2013
Well for explanation in Magento CE canonical url's is already present in Magento CORE you don't need any modules to benefit this function. You only need to activated in the back office &gt; System &gt; Config &gt; Catalog. Now search for "Search Engine Optimisation" and Use Canonical Link Meta Tag For Categories Use Canonical Link Meta Tag For Products Just select "Yes" .... That's all folks August 23, 2012
