Facebook Connect Social Shopping
Facebook Connect Social Shopping (FCSS) provides your site visitors the ability to connect with their Facebook friends without leaving your ecommerce store. They can recommend to their friends a purchase that they are making or ask advice to choose between items to purchase.
This will increase conversion rates on your site as well as pull in free traffic from Facebook through a direct contact from one of their friends – turning Facebook into a free, word-of-mouth affiliate. If friends are online on Facebook the interaction can be real-time.
Installation Instructions:
1) Install the "Modern" theme into your Magento installation.
2) Setup a Facebook Application by pointing your browser to: http://www.facebook.com/developers/createapp.php and follow the steps. Under Web Site > Site URL, use: http:// server / path to magento /index.php/fangento/. NOTE: This URL must be visible on the internet for this module to work! Facebook must be able to find this URL. It will not work for example on 'localhost' or a local IP/URL such as 127.0.0.1.
3) Navigate to System > Configuration > Fangento in your Magento admin and enter the "API Key" and "Application Secret" for your Facebook Application. (If you get an "Access Denied" error, logout and login to the admin again.)
4) Navigate to app/design/frontend/default/modern/template/page/2columns-left.phtml and add this attribute to the "html" tag: xmlns:fb="http://www.facebook.com/2008/fbml".
This extension has been tested in IE 7+ and Firefox 3+.
