Setting Up Customer Ratings

Watch the video tutorial!

Magento Go enables your customers to provide feedback on the products you sell. A customer can provide a text-based, descriptive review, and can also rate a various aspects of a product on a “star rating” scale, from one star (lowest rating) to five stars. By default, Magento Go provides three aspects that customers can assign star ratings to: Price, Quality, and Value. A customer’s star ratings for each aspect are averaged together to form that customer’s overall star rating for that product. The overall star ratings from all customers are averaged together to form the overall star rating for that product. This star rating is displayed on the product’s page on the frontend. Customers can view the details of each existing customer review as well as add their own reviews.

You can create additional ratings (such as “Reliability” or “Features”) that customers can rate on a star scale, and you can delete ratings and specify how each rating is presented in each of your stores.

To manage your stores’ star ratings:

  1. In the Admin Panel, select Catalog > Reviews and Ratings > Manage Ratings.
  2. To edit an existing rating, click on the rating name (for example, Quality.) In the Edit Rating page, you can change the name of the rating for each store and specify which stores the rating is visible on. When you are finished, click [Save Rating] (you can also delete the rating by clicking [Delete Rating]). image
  3. To create a new rating, click [+Add New Rating] on the Manage Ratings page. In the Rating Title section of the New Rating page, specify the default title and the title to use in each of your stores. In the Rating Visibility section, select the stores in which this rating is available for use. Click [Save Rating] when you are finished. image
