Image Management and Uploading

In Magento Go, you can create and manage the images that are used in your themes and content pages using the image management tool. This tool, which pops up when you click Insert Image on any content page, allows you to upload, delete, and use the images in your media storage.

Where can I use images?

Images can be used within your theme, in CMS pages, and static blocks, banners, category descriptions, and product descriptions.

Using the Image Management Tool

How you get to the image management tool depends on where you want to upload or insert the image. The next few sections will outline how to get there for each case. To insert or upload an image from the image management tool:

  2. After you select a directory, click Browse Files to specify the image to upload.

  4. Click on the thumbnail to select it. New function buttons will appear at the top right. Click Insert File to insert the image into your content. TIP: To delete a file, click its thumbnail to select it, then click Delete File to delete it from storage.

Theme Images versus CMS/Catalog Images

Images that you upload from CMS pages, static blocks, banners, product descriptions, and category descriptions are available to later re-use in any of the said elements. Images that you upload to use in Theme Customization are not. Images uploaded from the Themes Customization are stored differently because they are only applicable for the theme in question. Keep this in mind when working with images.
