I am not sure what is going on with this, but I need this functionality, so I am starting to build it myself. We are creating a new payment method to work with Quickbooks Merchant Services. This is nearly done. The next step will be syncronization with Quickbooks Online Edition. If there is sufficient interest, I will continue with Quickbooks Desktop Edition syncronization.

I would be willing to join forces. Please contact me if interested.

QBI for magento http://www.magentocommerce.com/group/blog/action/viewpost/440/group/188/

Adam over at QBI told me today he might look into creating a version for magneto

He created a fantastic quickbooks integration for the zen/osC family of carts. I used it on both zen cart and CRE loaded and was very pleased. I think he has a free version and paid version that doesn’t cost much and comes with some extra features/support.

If you are interested in him creating a version for magento people should contact him and let him know you are interested. http://www.qbisoftware.com/

End-Users vs. Service Providers http://www.magentocommerce.com/group/blog/action/viewpost/407/group/188/

While comments have been fairly active on other posts, it’s been a while since I’ve posted a new blog. The purpose of this post is simple, to carry on a discussion revolving around the following:

How many of you will be using this module for your own shop (as an end-user)?
How many of you will be using this module for your clients’ shops (as a service provider)?

I know it’s a mixed bag, and I’m sure some of you will be doing both. Mainly I’m trying to get any feel for the ration of reusers to one-time-users.

As always, if you have specific features you wish to have implemented, post them to our Technical Details Wiki.

T-Hub - Good Solution http://www.magentocommerce.com/group/blog/action/viewpost/375/group/188/

Why reinvent the wheel when you have something that works.  We’ve been using T-Hub for a while.  You can use it as an order manager or simply a piece of middleware between cart and quickbooks.  Go to

http://www.atandra.com

For more info.  Many carts use this software to bridge the gap between cart and QB.

QuickBooks Sync Progress and Google Code Project http://www.magentocommerce.com/group/blog/action/viewpost/321/group/188/

The process of developing the QuickBooks Sync module are already underway, and we are currently working on securing the initial structure of the module, which we expect to be based on the Magento DataFlow module. We’ve already begun to incorporate bits of the QuickBooks Web Connector (QBWC) provided by Intuit as well as the middle-ground-work that allows the two to communicate, such as SOAP server support, etc.

As far as an estimate on the timeline, I can’t offer any details, as there is quite a bit of work to be done on any module as extensive as this. But I can say that we’re doing our best to get the initial structure built and secured. We have also set up a Google Code project to server as an SVN for development code, etc. That can be found here.

If you have specific features you wish to have implemented, please post them to our Technical Details Wiki.

We can certainly use more developers, especially those with extra time, and experience with QBWC and Magento DataFlow. SOAP/Web Services experience is a plus as well. PM me if you fit the bill, and I’ll find a way to get you involved.

Looking forward to the road ahead,
Scott

UK QuickBooks Sync http://www.magentocommerce.com/group/blog/action/viewpost/259/group/188/

Hi,

The UK/Eurpean version of quickbooks is different from the US version being that it has no QBWC.

Is anyone developing this or have any ideas how we can work to get this into the Quickbooks connector?

Best

David

QuickBooks Sync: Call for Experience http://www.magentocommerce.com/group/blog/action/viewpost/252/group/188/

As we approach Magento 1.0, we will begin the process of developing the QuickBooks Sync module which will ideally use the Magento DataFlow module as well as the QuickBooks Web Connector (QBWC) provided by Intuit. If you have questions about this module in general, or you want to share your ideas or request support for specific features, post them to our group discussion in the forums.

We need developers, especially those with QBWC and Magento DataFlow experience. But we also want people with experience in these areas of design and development: framing, problem solving, brainstorming/ideas, Web services, etc. Please comment on this post below with your skills and experience. What can you bring to the table?

We also want to create a panel of framers - decision makers who will manage the project together. They will set the agenda, outline ideals/boundaries, finalize features/support, develop a timeline, and shape the overall direction for this module. This panel will most likely be made up of those that are most involved in the project. Other than myself, group member romy has been the most active participant in the group. If he accepts the role, I will make him lead developer and he will be on the panel of framers. Other ideal candidates are project managers, user experience designers, idea-conceivers/brainstormers, entrepreneurs, and problem solvers.

Post a comment below with a summary of your skills and experience for development, or your request to be on the panel of framers (or both).

QuickBooks Sync Group Thread http://www.magentocommerce.com/group/blog/action/viewpost/251/group/188/

Get involved in the QuickBooks Sync discussion via this forum thread.

Request support for your desired features. Ask those questions you’ve been wanting to know. Answer questions from others. As we approach Magento 1.0 we will begin to finalize the implementation details and start development on the module. So rather than carry on a live chat session like other Magento discussions have, I figured it’s best to let everyone contribute their thoughts and ideas, ask and answer questions, etc in their own time.

So what are you waiting for? Get over there!

QBWC Experience http://www.magentocommerce.com/group/blog/action/viewpost/250/group/188/

I don’t have a whole lot of PHP / Zend Framework experience, but I recently wrote an integration between RoR and QBWC for my “day job” so I might be able to lend a hand when it comes to talking with qb.
