I have not heard the latest update on the integration of Joomla and Magento. I know it was working for version .7 but did not see anything in the group related to Joomla integration with Magento 1.0

I’m looking to understand the best method for integrating Joomla as a CMS with Magento. I’d like to pose a few questions and thoughts and get the groups idea on what would be considered best practice and the most effective use of Joomla and Magento.

Question 1: In a Joomla Magento Integration do we create a template for each system and use two templates with Magento running ecommerce pages and joomla running content pages? The integration is a user in magento is synced as a user in Joomla as the user moves between both systems it is a seemless experience?

My Thoughts 1: I’m opposed to creating two templates and would rather like to see an integration of cms management rather then user sync. Both of course would be nice.

Question 2: Is it possible to create organized content in Joomla and then have that database content show up as the content for magento pages?

My Thoughts 2: magento has no current structure for grouping content, creating menus, etc. I’d like to think it is possible to develop the content in Joomla and then the pages in magento, rather then have any content, are coded to call the joomla database to retrieve the content and display it.

Question 3: If something like question 2 is possible does it break licensing agreements with either magento or joomla?

My Thoughts: I’m unclear. I’ve tried to understand the license agreements and am not sure if this is allowed based on my reading of various threads on Joomla and Magento forums.

Question 4: Shoebacca mentioned in their interview that they deployed joomla for some CMS features. What type of features did they use? How did they integrate specifically magento and joomla?

I look forward to the discussion

Joomla! integration and license violation http://www.magentocommerce.com/group/blog/action/viewpost/162/group/141/

Many of those who have been following recent Joomla and 3d party developments heard and read a well-known forum topic.
As it is known, many commercial extensions developers as well as developers of open source extensions that are not being used GPL license had to leave Joomla.
One of the examples that can illustrate this tendency is termination of the popular SMF-Joomla Bridge component development.
