About this Group
Out of the box, Magento uses the Prototype javascript framework coupled with the Script.aculo.us interface libraries. These libraries are collectively a pretty hefty initial download for customers. For customers with slower connections, the load could adversely affect conversions.
The goal of this group is to lighten the load a bit and create more options for developers who may be more familiar with these other libraries. This group was created to help assemble and provide support for alternate javascript libraries within Magento, such as jQuery, Mootools, YUI and DOJO.
