About this Group
This group would work on extending Magento to work as a Point of Sale solution. The focus would be on allowing Magento to work on local installation and support printers, barcode scanners, etc. It would be templateable, but should ship with a default template that is optimized for touchscreens.
Key Features:
*Optimized for Touchscreens on the frontend.
*Redundancy with a main database (backoffice) and local databases that replicate to the main database on set intervals. (If the backoffice goes down, the local stations can continue to operate)
*Printer, Barcode, and other hardware specific to POS Applications.
*It should heavily rely on AJAX so as to appear as a desktop application.
