Joomla and Magento, who does what?

Personally, and I am not a developer, but I am stitching together Joomla and extensions for a consumer site. I would love to use Magento as a powerful catalog system for products. I would love to have Magento content delivered through Joomla’s navigation system to keep things simple. I would even like the Magento content displayed at a component within my existing Joomla templates. Personally I will only be using Magento as a product catalog, not to actually take orders.payment and directly sell anything. My site handles lots of products that need comparison and visual display.But I do not sell these products, ~I sell advertising around the content.

But I would also like product reviews and comments to somehow happen through an integration of Joomla’s registration system and the JomComment extension so that a user registers once and sees protected content, can comment on articles, review products, and reap any possible rewards for registration within my Magento instance.

Finally, I have a SOBI2 instance on my site that runs a paid-subscription directory (a kind of yellow pages if you will) of product manufacturers, retailers, installers, etc. I would love to have an optional link from product pages generated by Magento to any corresponding Manufacturer, or relevant retailer or Installer listing.

I’m not sure if I am communicating this clearly but do ask me for explanation if so…
