Protx Integration
Just posted this in Magento Connect but thought it may be relevant here too…
I’m looking for someone to integrate Protx for us asap, the site’s not going live till it’s in stable release but we’d like to get going asap. Once that ones done we’ll potentially need Secure Trading too. I’m happy to pay for some time; then you can share it with every one else.
Let me know if you’re interested.
Tom

I’ve tried to get ProTX working, but haven’t dedicated enough time to it yet (I need a couple of clear days to get my head around Magento) but we too need it for launch. I can’t see how it’s that difficult - it was dead easy to write ASP to get the thing to work.

It’s a little tricky to write payment modules as the docs are in need of updating. In fact at the moment it’s perhaps one of the worst things about Magento just now - docs or lack of them for developers, especially if you’re not from the USA.
I hope that improves before 1.0 as they tie down the api.

I’m hoping someone can work it out; else we’re not going to be selling much… Seriously though, if anyone has some spare time then let me know what you charge and we’ll sort something out.
I’ll be keeping an eye out for that documentation.

We implemented it with version 0.6, yet since then our developers are less than keen to alter their broken code since version 0.7 until 1 is released.

Just wanted to “7th” this as we need protx integration too. We can help fund this if needs be.

Hi all,
Just an idea-maybe a way we could start things off is for everybody that is interested in UK specific extensions/integrations to donate some money to a developer fund which is managed by somebody on the board (just using Paypal perhaps?) (maybe the official moderator?).
Then to propose the development on a programmer/developers site such as http://www.scriptlance.com/ to see what the response is like.
If the extension/integration is developed then subsequent Magento users could download the extension for a small donation to further the development fund for other extensions.
What do you all think?
I do understand that this is Open Source and maybe the above suggestion is not in keeping with the ethos of Open Source. It may even be against the Magento Licensing?
I’m thinking of it as a co-operative, non-profit development fund.
This is just a concept I haven’t thought beyond the initial idea, so please “don’t shoot the messenger!”
All constructive feedback welcome? Pros/cons, non-starter, problems etc.
Cheers
Nick

We’ll be using Protx.
Because we don’t want to be responsible for storing card details we’d need to use VSP Form or VSP Server. Either would work although I suppose server is the better solution if it can be integrated.
Magento’s looking great though there’s still loads of stuff to be done before we can think seriously about moving from oscommerce.

We’re currently using Protx Direct on a Zen store.
A Protx Direct mod (and a way of getting our existing data over) are the only things stopping us moving to Magento.

I was going to test it out but spent 15 mins going round and round in circles trying to find the download button and gave up eventually. Ho hum.
15shaun posted Wed, April 16, 2008
There is no download button in Magento Connect.
Go to http://www.magentocommerce.com/extension/143/protx-extension
Click on ‘Get Extension Key’
Click the checkbox to agree to the licence.
Click ‘GET EXTENSION KEY’.
Cut that key out.
Go to your ‘Manage Extensions’ page in your store admin and paste it in there to install it.

Silly question perhaps, but would i need SSL to use protx in form way?
18scend posted Thu, September 4, 2008
If you’re using Protx Form then you don’t need an SSL cert, you only need one if you’re using the Direct mode and processing payments on your own site, however, some people get a certificate anyway just for customer assurance.

scend, thanks buddy
