Open Source eCommerce Evolved

Hi-Thinking of moving from Actinic

Hi all,

Just a bit of background- have 3 Actinic stores running with similar/crossover products.  Started in 2004.  Looking to update the stores and add features.  Disappointed with Actinic’s attitude, they just don’t seem to listen to what their users want.

Have trialled/researched many ecommerce platforms (Zen Cart, OSCommerce, ASPCart, dotaspcart etc. etc.)

I even had some bespoke quotes coming in at around 15k!!!

I then found Magento and the potential looks fantastic.

Will be watching very closely.

Cheers

Nick

Certainly, they seem to have their finger on the pulse, and actively listen and encourage the Open source Community
    They’re doing everything right ...

I hope they just make the launch date, otherwise they’ll lose credibility ...

    Hi,

Yes, good point.  Mind you every software launch seems to suffer from some delays and/or bugs (just look at Microsoft)!

    Cheers

    Hi
I work with the Actinc ecommerce since 4 years, and it become quite impossible to continue. Big problem with customer account : perhaps we can get one, but not before 1 year !
Leaving in France, it is a nightmare to add a new PSP or a new shipping mode.
So I will stop Actinic as quick as I can, mean when i will find a solution to transfer all my data from Actinic to Magento.
Waiting for news from you !
    Cheers
    Didier
