Blogging for Points

Here’s an idea I would like to see in the points/rewards module.  After each order, generate a unique token, display a special URL to the customer with this token embedded in it.  The user would then copy the URL, and if they blog about their order from your store and use that URL as the trackback (ping back, etc) then they get more points, or 10% off next order or whatever.

Variations can include:
Mailing the URL 3 inside regular order update e-mails to the user
Requiring that the blog link to the store/product page.
Manual validation of blog contents (pingback merely alerts someone to go add the points to an account)

I’ve seen entire advertising businesses spring up around worse ideas than this.

This is a great idea. I would also think it quite a good idea if you did the same with tags. Tag 100 items and get a set number of points.

My store’s have upward of 10,000 of items and when initially setting them up this would prove a great way of getting items tagged. Though like above you would need to validate the tags.
