The Magento Commerce DataFlow module is a powerful and versatile tool that enables you to import legacy data from your old e-commerce databases into Magento. Currently, only two data adapters exist for DataFlow - one to import/export products, and one to import/export customers. Our groups focus and goal is to provide data adapters for virtually any legacy schema to enable smooth and easy conversion to Magento Commerce.
This group’s focus is limited to data adapter requests, design and implementation, as well as support and troubleshooting our code.
Also, a guide to developing DataFlow adapters is rumored to be coming soon!

I have a huge project - moving an app from PHP4/SQL Server to PHP5/MySQL.
I’m wondering if the right approach would be to use dataflow adapter to read current data from SQL Server (and also write to SQL Server?) ?
I’d like to be able to use Magento directly with SQL Server initially, but that doesn’t appear to be supported yet.

I’m no expert at SQL, so this is a big help for us novices.
However, I could use some import examples similar to export example given.
